This is the differance between the mighty mighty Marine Corps and the obsolete US Army (of course, take the ribbing to heart Army...:) yes, I know, we are part of the Department of Navy, but it is the Mens Department.
Dumb and dishonest. Way to do your beloved Corps proud.
I heard on AFRS Saigon this one:
For you AF types, the time is 3 pm,
For you Army types, it is 1500 hours,
For you Marines, Mickys little hand is on 3 and his big........
I will always remember it.

Grow some hair and be man as the point of this thread was the spirit of veteran cameraderie/ribbing.
Go sit on it if you have thin skin.
I love the Marines!
You are sick.
What is weird?
The differEnce is that guys in the Army can spell?
That any MARINE would not have a dress uniform is beyond me ,there are parades and other events such as the MARINES birthday in november , I never missed one MARINE CORP BALL, did you not attend any of the dress ups.
MARINES are still lower in numbers ,they run about one third of the army.
I attended the "dress ups" in my dress greens, as did at least half of my fellow Marines. Not everybody had the bread in those days to buy the blues.
The Army is running more than 3 times as many casualties as the Marines. You do the math.
You go sit on it, and twirl.
Get a life, twerp.
I'm hardly the only one to point out to you what an idiot you are for starting this thread. I really don't think I'm the one who needs to get a life.
I welcome the chorus of rivalry. Maybe you are a bootlicker/brownnoser/slacker. Who knows!
I suspect that my character is just one more thing in a long list that you have less than a clue about.
You can't answer it, can you? Any Combat (arms) Marine knows it that pulled guard duty. You know what firewatch is? You know how to do "Inspection, Arms!"?
From what i heard, the secretary of the navy was a civilian, and not an actual member of the navy?? Not sure how true that is, but if it IS true, then technically what you said doesn't stand.
I have no idea what post you are referring to, but I think it has something to do with the USMC being part of the Dept of the Navy, which they are.
There are only 3 service departments - Army, Navy, and AF.
I am not sure what bearing the civilian status of the SecNav has to do with anything - feel free to refresh my memory.
Hope you are having a good 2006 so far.

"The Army succeeded and the Marines did not."
BS, friend. My cousin was badly wounded in the
second battle of Fallujah, and my son was in
Ramadi at the time of the first election.
They told me the difference between Marine
and Army doctrine is this: the Marines engage
immediately. The Army is trained to withdraw
and wait for support. My son was called on to
rescue the Army units a lot. AND, the Army
couldn't even get the Marine's meals to them
because the Army thought the area was too hot.
Don't be telling OUR family about the effectiveness
of the Army.
(I have not served. My tagline honors my son and my cousin.)
