The Empty Cradle Will Rock (abortion costs Dem votes)

THE ROE EFFECT

The Empty Cradle Will Rock How abortion is costing the Democrats voters--literally. BY LARRY L. EASTLAND Monday, June 28, 2004 12:01 a.m. EDT

More than 40 million legal abortions have been performed and documented in the 30 years since the U.S. Supreme Court declared abortion legal. The debate remains focused on the legality and morality of abortion. What's largely ignored is a factual analysis of the political consequences of 40 million abortions. Consider:

• There were 12,274,368 in the Voting Age Population of 205,815,000 missing from the 2000 presidential election, because of abortions from 1973-82.

• In this year's election, there will be 18,336,576 in the Voting Age Population missing because of abortions between 1972 and 1986.

• In the 2008 election, 24,408,960 in the Voting Age Population will be missing because of abortions between 1973-90.

These numbers will not change. They are based on individual choices made--aggregated nationally--as long as 30 years ago. Look inside these numbers at where the political impact is felt most. Do Democrats realize that millions of Missing Voters--due to the abortion policies they advocate--gave George W. Bush the margin of victory in 2000?

Searched, but could not find this already posted. There are some statistical issues. It is hard to prove exactly what the population would be in the absence of Roe (maybe people who had abortions would not have had other children later if they had given birth to the aborted child), but I like the use of statistics to show what may be tilting the populace toward the Republican side.

I've always argued that demographics run in our favor because conservatives carry to term.

The same logic applies to other levels as well...european people, including their colonial offspring, are being bred into insignificance. America's population growth is almost entirely due to minorities and immigrants.

Abortion and the fact that they most of them despise anyone with more than one child, if any. I asked my sister-in-law if she realized that her four children were using up more than their share of the Democrats resources and she said they had best shut up because it will be her kids paying their Social Security.

Cold Hearted View

My Cold Hearted View of abortion says that it is really a self curing problem. In time, the problem will go away by itself. Those women who don’t have the time and don't want to take the trouble to raise a child have an abortion. They are removing their genes from the gene pool. As time passes, only mothers who want children and are willing to take care of them will remain in the population. Therefore, slowly, the defective genes are being systematically removed from the gene pool.

As a sidebar, Rush was talking on his radio program awhile back that there have been about about 40 million abortions since Roe v Wade. That makes me wonder: Could it be that the Liberals have also aborted themselves out of power? If only a small majority of the 40 million who were aborted were now alive and voting as Liberals, the Democrats would be in control of the US Presidency, the House, and the Senate!

From my Gun Rights & Politics Page. Written in 2001.

My homeschool group votes at almost 100% rate, and votes almost 100% Conservative. (The ones that don't vote Republican usually vote Constitution party) They also regard children as blessings, with several families of 7 or 8 kids. Small families are the exception.

Many families are politically active, with the kids canvassing neighborhoods and holding signs.

We are the Democrats worst nightmare.

I remember the abortion debate of the 60's and 70's and how feminists cheered their victory and told young women this was a good thing. (We all read the classic book "Our Bodies, Ourselves" which advocated abortion. The entire liberal media and educational establishment told us that abortion was a good thing.)

A good friend of mine had an abortion because the birth control pill that the clinic gave out wasn't strong enuf. A whole group of women got abortions because of that failure. I thought it was wrong, but didn't say anything, because it was then a fact of American life that women demanded control of their own bodies. I felt it was sad that my very intelligent, educated, married friend chose to abort her child for the sake of convenience. Incidentally, she and her husband never had another child (for whatever reason). This is a case of an aborted baby that would have had many advantages in society if allowed to live.

My views changed to anti-abortion and pro-life twenty years ago when I joined a church that was pro-life in its preaching.

Interesting concept but it does not take into account the fact that the NEA and other organizations already have care, custody, and control of public school children.

They don't need their own children, they have "yours".

According to an article that I recently read, the influence of feminists is also declining because so many of them didn't get married and didn't have children. As with the case of the Democrats, a group that doesn't reproduce will shrink in size and as a consequence the ability of that group to influence events will diminish.

they will not be "breeding". They will be recruiting from "breeders". A term of derision homosexuals use for normal people.

which is why the feminists and liberals are so adamant about having exclusive access to public schools.
