NYC DISCRIMINATES AGAINST JEWS, CATHOLICS, AND SALVATION ARMY

NEW YORK - Late on Monday the NYC City Council overrode a veto from Mayor Michael Bloomberg forcing NYC to abandon doing any business with organizations that do not offer benefits to partners of same sex couples.

This move from the city council calls into question the future of relationships with organizations like Jewish Charities, Catholic Charities, and the Salvation Army. These organizations - all faith based - have religious/doctrinal reasons for not promoting homosexual relationships and their record of public good was proven long ago.

Law professor Jonathon Turley from the George Washington University Law School told the "Kevin McCullough Show" in New York today that a possible response could be for President Bush's "Faith Based Initiatives" task force to issue a recommendation of cutting off all funding to New York City unless they remove the limitation on who the city can do business with.

How has this perverted minority managed to scare the pants off so many organizations like this? How was the NYC Council forced to bend over and grab it's knees?

Good! No need to do business with Bloombery and his cronies.

"Homosexual unions are totally lacking in the biological and anthropological elements of marriage and family which would be the basis, on the level of reason, for granting them legal recognition. Such unions are not able to contribute in a proper way to the procreation and survival of the human race. The possibility of using recently discovered methods of artificial reproduction, beyond involving a grave lack of respect for human dignity,(15) does nothing to alter this inadequacy."

CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING PROPOSALS TO GIVE LEGAL RECOGNITION TO UNIONS BETWEEN HOMOSEXUAL PERSONS

Catholic Ping - let me know if you want on/off this list

The City Council essentially means "We don't care about your religious beliefs they are wrong and mean spirited. You will conform and honor the sodomites or be done away with".

You got me. Less than 5% of the population is dictating what the rest of us can do.

It's idiocy.

It wasn't forced at all; it enthusiastically volunteered to assume the position.

This may not be as far-fetched as it sounds, since even a RINO like Bloomberg went to great lengths to veto this law. The loss of Federal funding would be a mighty stick for him to wield in an attempt to get the NYC Council to acquiesce.

And when you consider that Bloomberg will play a prominent role at the GOP convention in New York, you can imagine how the GOP would love to play this up in the heat of the presidential campaign.

ROTFL

IMHO the perverted minority you speak of IS the NYC Council.

These groups need to sue on the basis of discrimination. They have the legal "high ground".

The SC said the Boy Scouts had that right, to select it's members, that should not be a basis for others to discriminate against them.

We need some "good guy" lawyers.

I'm confused by your post - did you miss this: "NYC City Council overrode a veto from Mayor Michael Bloomberg...".

There are plenty of reasons to hate NY (the Yankees are near the top of the list, BTW), and Bloomberg isn't exactly the greatest. But you can't blame this on him.

Perhaps the Salvation Army and the other organizations shouldn't seek government money anyway. If they become dependent on government money, their integrity might be compromised. Also, it isn't exactly charity when they spend taxpayer money.

Several years ago, a lesbian was fired by a Baptist charitable agency in Louisville, Kentucky. The agency acknowledged that she was fired for that reason. This charity received city money. This had an unfortunate consequence: it undercut the arguments of local pro-family groups that homosexuals do not need "special rights" -- and an ordinance protecting homosexuals against discrimination in employment was soon passed in Louisville.

I'm no fan of Bloomberg, but the article said, "Late on Monday the NYC City Council overrode a veto from Mayor Michael Bloomberg ..."

We have the City Council to thank for this one.

Aren't funds cut off to state and public schools that discriminate?
