"WASHINGTON (AFP) - Several members of the House of Representatives have requested the United Nations (news - web sites) to send observers to monitor the November 2 US presidential election to avoid a contentious vote like in 2000, when the outcome was decided by Florida.

Recalling the long, drawn out process in the southern state, nine lawmakers, including four blacks and one Hispanic, sent a letter Thursday to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan (news - web sites) asking that the international body "ensure free and fair elections in America," according to a statement issued by Florida representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, who spearheaded the effort..."

It is never too late. It can start with one person speaking up, writing a letter, getting involved.

You are correct, that is how it starts, but eventually blood will have to be spilled I am afraid.

It's the idea that Congressmen would even consider enlisting a foreign entity let alone writing a public letter.

UN observers see what the highest bidder tells them to see.

Johnson is from Texas Dallas area, Rush got it wrong. Her
seat was made safer in the recent redistricting. She and
Jackass Lee are two of the stupidest people on the planet
and both from Texas.

You're not the only one. Check out these posts by our good friend Gymnast at Little Green Footballs:

I can only assume that the 'Rats are bent on suicide. First they allow the Ham-ass Terrorist, Mike Al-Moor, to become their most prominent spokesman, now this. Anyone who doubted that they are the party of knaves, liars, and delusional fantasy ideologues now has a definitive answer. Perhaps we should drop "'Rats" and start calling them the "Lemming Party."

I'm aware of that, a hundred or so previous posts would have enlightened me if I had not been. What's your point in telling me this?

I read this a couple of years ago. Isn't it common knowledge what was said?

That photo shows defiance, as if she's saying "honor and integrity is for the little people, not me."

There is supposed to be a nationwide nursing * shortage. Congresswoman Johnson should begin her CME (Continuing Medical Education) refresher classes now in order to pass her license exams which would reinstate her RN status. This Congresswoman would be one realtor * to avoid.

(* Reference: Eddy Bernice Johnson aka "Jill Johnson of All Trades" began a career in nursing switched to real estate and then landed in her current lust for powerplot to take over the world.)

I apologize if I have repeated myself. This story remains very shocking and disturbing to me nearly 18 hours after first reading it.

Easiest way to shut these fools up is to point out that the UN would not be acting as a disinterested and neutral party in our election

Kudos to your for being one of the rare individuals in the world who actually understands the meaning of the word 'disinterested'.

This is enough to make me want to just go vomit somewhere. How in the Sam Heck does this politician think she can railroad the US into this?

Squantos - is she your congresscritter? (Big grin on that one) I thought Texans knew how to take care of folks like this.
