I want to find out if any Freeper can answer the question posed above.
Is there a legitimate reason that every network, even and especially FoxNews have not covered the Adm Denton snub by the CA Democrats?
I have alerted O'Reilly, Brit, Carl Cameron, Sean, Drudge, Townhall's C-Log, WSJ's Taranto, everyone I can think of.
So far this story has appeared in FreeRep, HumanEvents, SacramentoUnion, WND, NewsMax [after I gave Carl Limbacher a heads-up] and an inside Politics story in the WashTimes.
But NOTHING ON FOXNEWS! All JULY 4TH WEEKEND!
A story this explosive could cost the Dems hundreds of thousands of votes, [if not millions] but the Republicans are ignoring it like it was the plague.
And I wanna know why, dammit!
Not just the Dems snub of Adm Denton, but the Repubs total unwillingness to use it to their advantage.
I swear, if this is how the Conservatives are going to run their media campaign, I might just as well vote for Kerry and send an invitation to alZarqawi to begin his beheading jihad in the FoxStudios.
Pardon me for asking..but because nobody has covered the story..I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT, lol.
I've heard Admiral Denton's name on Foxnews before, but I have absolutely no idea what the story is.
What's the Adm. Denton story?
Honestly, what is the story? I havent heard anything about it.
Also, could you give me the contact info on the members of the media you mentioned? FR mail me.
Thanks.
It wouldn't be a story if we'd heard about it. Let's all just vote for Kerry and don't ask questions.

Admiral Denton Knows A Military Threat When He Sees One
By Rick Erickson (03/15/04)
It is apparently settled that the Kerry for President campaign wins on military issues because Senator Kerry has the most medals and combat to boot. Upon nothing other than innuendo so far, the Kerry campaign wants us to believe that President Bush was absent from National Guard duty without leave or authorization. This makes Kerry the braver, and more committed man to be commander in chief over our military.
Rear Admiral Jeremiah A. Denton, a Vietnam veteran and prisoner of war, disagrees, both as a veteran and as a U.S. Senate colleague of Kerrys between 1981 and 1987. In addition to POW hardships that Admiral Denton attributes to Senator Kerrys anti-war movement, Admiral Denton recently wrote in the Mobile, Alabama Register that Kerrys overall voting pattern in the Senate was consistently detrimental to our national security.
Admiral Denton ought to know about national security and those who pose a risk to the military furthering that security. Admiral Dentons thirty-four-year career included a long list of combat decorations, most estimably, the Navy Cross.
Admiral Denton sees Senator Kerrys military voting record as sobering irresponsibility to military readiness and morale, but Admiral Denton is not alone in the public forum that is increasingly critical of Senator Kerry for his opportunistic indecisiveness on military and national security issues.
David Brooks, in a recent New York Times editorial, called Senator Kerry for making wishy-washy statements concerning the former Somalia conflict, the Balkan crisis and two wars against Iraq. Brooks described Senator Kerrys lack of commitment on associated defense policies as a foragainst method analogical to the dense fog frequently covering Boston.
Mounting criticism seems to suggest that Senator Kerry is disguising a continuing agenda as an anti-war advocate. Admiral Denton went a bit further in his Register column. He identified Senator Kerrys overall attitude as part of the Democratic Partys fatal weakness, which caused Admiral Denton to abandon his lifelong affiliation as a Democrat.
In 1980, Admiral Denton ran for the U.S. Senate as an Alabama Republican, but, unlike Kerry, was decisively supportive on all things military. Also unlike Senator Kerry, Admiral Denton did not have to inject his service record to get elected. To the contrary, surviving the Vietnam War and seven years as a POW humbled Admiral Denton, and he found it presumptuous to grandstand around military decorations that equally symbolized comrades killed in action.
Senator Kerrys ongoing insistence that war medals dictate political integrity may come back to bite him. There are many decorated soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen who, like Admiral Denton, carry the utmost credibility when they express opposition to one presidential candidate over another when it comes to military readiness and national security. If Senator Kerry continues to fog his support on these compelling issues, you can expect many more Admiral Dentons to come forward in opposition.
Rick Erickson writes and speaks nationwide as President of Americans for Military Readiness, a non-profit organization devoted to troop morale and combat preparedness.
And the story is?................
There you go, snubbing Denton.
Lest we forget the accomplishments of the "Bush" administration after eight years of Clinton destruction.

California GOP: Democrats shunned war hero
Refused 4th-of-July ceremony, citing religious, political views

© 2004 WorldNetDaily.comThe California State Assembly's Democratic leadership refused to allow a Vietnam war hero and former U.S. senator to join in a 4th-of-July ceremony, citing "separation of church and state" concerns and his political views, according to Assemblyman John Campbell.
Jeremiah Denton at Clark Air Force Base in 1973 after 8 years in a North Vietnamese prison. After hearing about the rejection, Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger offered his meeting room Monday for a ceremony with retired Adm. Jeremiah Denton, which was packed to overflowing.
Campbell said the Assembly has arranged for many "celebrations" on the floor orchestrated by Democrats, with singing and dancing, including Cinco de Mayo, St. Patrick's Day and Chinese New Year's Day.
"But never once have we celebrated America's Independence Day, the 4th of July," he said.
So this year, Republican Assemblyman Jay LaSuer of San Diego arranged for Denton to come to California to participate in an Independence Day ceremony.
A memo from the Democratic speaker's office, however, said "problems have arisen both with regards to the spirit, content and participation of various individuals with regard to the ceremony."
The Democrats said Denton did not believe in the "separation of church and state," and they didn't like the policies he supported as a senator.
Jeremiah Denton meeting with President Reagan during Senate service in the 1980s.Denton was a Navy pilot who spent eight years in a Vietnamese prison after being shot down during the war. In 1966 while in prison, he was interviewed by North Vietnamese television in Hanoi after being tortured in an attempt to make him "respond properly."
During the interview, Denton blinked his eyes in Morse code to spell out the word "torture."
He was asked about his support for the war in Vietnam, to which he replied, "I don't know what is happening now in Vietnam, because the only news sources I have are Vietnamese. But whatever the position of my government is, I believe in it, I support it, and I will support it as long as I live."
Four of his eight years in prison were spent in solitary confinement, which he later recounted in his book, "When Hell was in Session."
When Denton stepped off a plane after being released from prison in 1973, he said, "We are honored to have had the opportunity to serve our country in difficult circumstances. We are profoundly grateful to our commander-in-chief for this day. God bless America."
He later was elected to the U.S. Senate from his home state of Alabama, becoming the first retired admiral ever elected to that body.
"Suffice it to say," Campbell said, "Jeremiah Denton is unquestionably an American hero."
Campbell said the Assembly had a 20-minute ceremony during its session Monday, but it was to celebrate the career of a retiring Los Angeles Times reporter. Democrats universally praised the reporter as being "balanced," Campbell said, and he was allowed to speak for about 10 minutes.
"Four years of Cinco De Mayo and not one recognition of the 4th of July," Campbell said. "An L.A. Times reporter praised, and the very person whose sacrifice allows him to express his opinion is banned. It is perverse. It is wrong. And it is disrespectful to all the men and women in uniform who have stared death in the face and to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the American people."
Campbell said Democrats are "always railing about intolerance and discrimination," but "in practice, it is they who engage in regular state-sanctioned discrimination and who are intolerant of the presentation of other views. Maybe they are worried that people will listen."
Meanwhile, in Gov. Schwarzenegger's meeting room Monday, Campbell said, Denton "gave a very moving speech about the 4th of July and about the undeniable commitment of our Founding Fathers' to their faith in God."
Denton said he fears partisan attacks on the U.S. mission and troops in Iraq and Afghanistan sound too familiar to what he experienced in Vietnam.
After his speech, attended by only one elected Democrat, Schwarzenegger came out to spend time with Denton, Campbell said.
Thank You!
Is this the CA state assembly that was caught on live mics plotting to undermine the CA budget/finances/whatever?

Calif. Dems Block July 4th Tribute to Vietnam Hero
Democrats usually turn livid over the slightest hint that their patriotism is being challenged. But the actions of California's Democrat-controlled State Assembly this week have certainly given critics a lot of ammunition.
Republican Assemblyman Jay LaSuer of San Diego had arranged for Vietnam war hero Admiral Jeremiah Denton to come to California to be a part of a 4th of July ceremony held on the Assembly floor. Admiral Denton is the legendary Navy pilot who, when shot down, taken prisoner and tortured by his North Vietnamese captors, blinked his eyes in Morse code during a Communist propaganda video to spell out the word "torture."
When his jailers discovered the ruse, Denton was tossed into solitary confinement for four years - half of his eight-year captivity. He became an admiral and was later elected to the U.S. Senate.
What could be better than a July 4th tribute to a true American hero like Denton?
If you're a California Assembly Democrat, the answer is - no tribute at all.
According to Golden State Assembly Republican John Campbell, "the Democratic leadership refused to allow [Denton] on the Assembly floor and there will be no 4th of July celebration."
A memo from the Democratic speaker's office cited "problems . . . with regards to the spirit, content and participation of various individuals with regard to the ceremony."
Campbell told the Sacramento Union that Assembly Democrats "didn't like the policies [Denton] supported as a United States Senator," especially on issues like the separation of church and state. "Therefore they would not allow him to be on the Assembly floor or to speak."
Informed of the outrageous stunt, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger made his meeting room available last Monday for a ceremony with the Vietnam hero.
According to Campbell, "the room was overflowing with people. Only one elected Democrat was in attendance. A number of veterans of the last 4 wars were present."
Campbell continued: "Admiral Denton gave a very moving speech about the 4th of July and about the undeniable commitment of our founding fathers to their faith in God. He talked about how the war on terrorism may be the most difficult war we have yet fought.
And he went on to say that he fears that partisan attacks on our mission and our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan sound too familiar to what he experienced in Vietnam."
After the ceremony, Gov. Schwarzenegger met with Admiral Denton privately.
Expressing his dismay at the disgraceful conduct of his Democratic colleagues, Campbell noted that the Assembly has hosted celebrations in the past for Cinco de Mayo, St. Patrick's Day and Chinese New Year's.
"But never once have we celebrated America's Independence Day," he lamented.

There was a very moving television film with Hal Holbrook portraying Jeremiah Denton in his POW ordeal.
I have had the honor of meeting Adm. Denton. A great man.
The answer is YES.
Governor Arnold met with Admiral Denton.
I see some of the articles are posted herein.
CA democrats know no depth too low.
They right at home in their septic tanks.
What I cannot and will not accept are news agencies like Drudge and FoxNews TOTALLY IGNORING or even "SPIKING" this story.
I know.
By ignoring the story, the democrats score a two-fer.
I can handle news BIAS,
but our news media are DISHONEST
and that why they're dangerous.
