A DAY IN THE LIFE PRESIDENT BUSH (PHOTOS): 7.7.05

Senatorial blockage of his judicial nominees becoming judges and justices was the focus of President Bush's day. He also attended a fundraiser; both events were in the state recently evacuated by a certain United States Senator: North Carolina. He addressed the press and took reporters' questions at Raleigh Durham Airport.

He nominated former Westinghouse executive Francis J. Harvey to become Army secretary, to replace Thomas E. White.

In the War on Terror, he named nine more Guantanamo prisoners eligible to be tried by a U.S. military tribunal, citing a 'reason to believe' they were al Qaeda members or involved in terrorism against the United States.

I am eternally in your debt for that plus-minus formula.

I'll bet President Bush *paid* for his lemonade out of his own pocket (unlike x42id).

Steve.

Q Mr. President --

THE PRESIDENT: Yes, speak up. I'm getting a little --

Q If I could try another Edwards question. He's being described today as charming, engaging, a nimble campaigner, a populist, and even sexy. How does he stack up against Dick Cheney?

THE PRESIDENT: Dick Cheney can be President.

Next.

Then there are the kerry comments:
"It's a thrill for me to have another guy with hair on the road."

"And I want you to know we think this is a dream ticket. We've got better vision. We've got better ideas. We've got real plans. We've got a better sense of what's happening to America. And we've got better hair. I'll tell you that goes a long way."

November can't get here soon enough!

About the Kerry comments...

Amazing how Kerry, like Algore, feels the need to remind people of his masculinity, virility, etc...even dealing with hair. If one has to remind people then one isn't truly comfortable in themselves.

Dorks.

$10 for the lemonade? That's *exactly* what I would have expected. Very cool. :o)

Try: +"President Bush" -John -Kerry -Edwards -Democratic

Using the + and - signs helps filter stuff you want in or out.

I know you're brilliant,
but this is fabulous!

PB, this zinger by Gdub is absolutely awesome. Sounds like a Reagan one liner. They need to beat the drum on the Breck girl's lack of credentials.

It's really embarrassing when Kerry tries to be funny.

It's cringe worthy.

You are most warmly welcome, Gretchen. Another tip: putting more than one word in quotes tells the system you want that exact phrase or combination of words. As in "President Bush" or "German Wirehaired Pointer." Otherwise, the system will return everything with president and Bush, or everything with German, wirehaired and pointer.

I've been reading comments all day referring to Edwards being sexy. I agree that it has absolutely nothing at all to do with anything, but in all fairness lets face it. If the candidate is homely, we make fun of that, if he's good looking we make fun of that. A candidate is in a no win situation and I think the rhetoric makes us just as shallow as the Dems.

Anybody remember the name of the lady last Fall who was obsessing about Gebhardt becoming President and I bet her $25 or 50 donation to Free Republic that he wouldn't?

With the Kerry-Edwards ticket now, I think she should pony up and make that donation to the FReepathon!!
