Now, how many of you have seen various attacks on the .50 caliber target rifle in the media of late? At least one California community is attempting to 'ban' the .50 caliber.

Note my comment in 25. A year or so Mayor Daley had a ban instituted on ownership of .50 caliber by Police, and I think all Chicago city employees, maybe someone can help me here.

.50 caliber anything, blackpowder, in a shotgun/blackpowder deer state. So much for city employees reenacting on July 4. Every few years some councilman introduces a ban on common calibers used in crime , that's all .22, .38., .44, .45, 9mm are used for after all. Sometimes accompanied by a ban of ammo over 1000 fps (penetrates vests) at the muzzle, legal deer hunting velocity in many states.

If you can't do it all at once, do it incrementally, feasible if you count on the ignorance of the voters.

Nah, I'll just keep it around and pass it down to my
grand kids in case they need it in the next revolution.

To the communist that posted this drivel It's called freedom, get over your pathetic, whining little fears.

I posted it, I didn't write it. I think it's funny.

Whoops ... definately used the wrong words there :) Allow me to correct that previous statement

To the communist that authored this drivel It's called freedom, get over your pathetic, whining little fears.

That's better.

Oh...I'm shaking....this is really going to stop someone from going into the workplace and shooting a bunch of people - NOT!

The only thing that can stop someone on a shooting spree is a well-armed person!

Now if we could only get another couple of hundred like Ron Paul we could actually get a break from the ever expanding federal government.

WOW, 5 people. And how many people were saved during that same time by people carrying LEGAL handguns?

Actually only 3 people were shot in 2 incidents. The others were examples of bad judgement, but there were no injuries.

I remember thw newspaper acounts of the Pennsylvania incident. The way it happened is that two guys got into an argument over a parking place & shoveling snow into it. They both had permits. The one who got shot threatened the other one with his pistol. The shooter was justified in shooting back.

We are in for a few weeks of hysterics from the usual suspects.

There will be lots of news stories about criminals (who don't have a permit) who were caught with a concealed weapon (to imply that having a concealed weapon permit will turn one into a criminal).

A "high capacity" magazine does not mean a whole lot. The current ban limits magazines to 10 rounds. One could carry a loaded gun and easily carry two or three spare magazines. The prohibitionists' goal is to eventually limit magazines to one or two rounds, which would make semi-autos impractical.

Wonderful hysteria about "easily concealable assault weapons with 100-round magazines!" A handgun magazine of 50 rounds is bound to misfeed a lot. There is nothing magical about a bulky Tec-9 with a 50-round magazine. That would be a jam-a-matic! It might hurt you if someone threw one at you. Anyone with a quality revolver or semi-auto is better armed. I wouldn't trade my Sig 220 for a room full of Tec-9s. A really good and inexpensive high-capacity handgun is the CZ-75, but that is just my preference. One should be able to find 15-round magazines for it and they won't jam.

All I want is a weapon that works when I need it, and a government that stays out of my way.

But our compassionate government "protectors" know what is good for us and they will enforce their vision -- even if it kills us.

If the Brady Bunch are this looney in July, will they be leaping off of buildings come September?!

One can only hope ...

"What a piece of crap it is."

How true! In fact, I hope that the next time somebody opens up on me, they're using one of those. That will almost insure my survival and make accurate return fire so much easier.

I've shot TEC-9s. They're one of the safest guns to have in criminal hands, actually - you can't aim them and they jam constantly. I've yet to see a serious shooter with one, but you do see some dorks on occasion. Like this guy:

Yeah. Chuckie Schumer does his Don Johnson imitation. Pathetic.

Indeed, where people are forbidden from having the means to protect themselves the criminal minded are free to terrorize and mass murder.

No guns allowed signs are "shootme" signs, posted by the foolish.

"Although, I've not seen one EVER as an open carry weapon...."

Florida is not an open carry state, but there are unusual exceptions. After Hurricane Andrew, I saw many folks armed with both AR's and AK's patrolling neighborhoods to keep out the looter elements. Cops would stop to chat with these individuals and not even blink at the slung weapon. Most were slung African style (muzzle down) or with a Giles rig. I find African style on my weak side an extremely fast movement to the ready position.

My ex-wife and I once went to San Antonio for Diez y Seis de Septiembre and finally got into bed at our motel about 3:00 AM after partying on the Riverwalk.

Around 5:00 AM, someone started banging on our door but refused to identify themselves, even after I asked several times.

So I retrieved my .45 ACP from the suitcase, held the muzzle against the big steel door, and loaded a round. The sound carried very well, and by the time I opened the door, they were gone.
