Actually, IIRC, police are more likely to commit violent crimes than are CCW-holders as a population, but don't hold your breath waiting for the Brady Campaign, the media, or any others in that freedom-hating cabal to mention it...;)
I don't think so. The law states that you can't carry there unless doing so under "lawful purposes", or something to that effect.
So if you are carrying "legally" outside, then you should be okay inside also.
Oh pleeeeze say yes!
Keep the letters going to your Congressmen - 'cuz you know they're hearing it from the left...
It's all about sound bites and hysteria. These people are getting pretty desperate.
Hello Robert Taylor and welcome to FR! I think the first time I registered, after lurking for some time was to respond to a gun control thread too.
When we were in DC for the Second Amendment Sisters rally this past Mother's Day, the commie mommies were staying in the same hotel as we were. We got into some serious discussion with a couple of them on Saturday night before the rally and I asked one of them: "I've lived my entire life and never broken a single law, save a couple of traffic tickets. Tell me why I should not be allowed to carry a gun to protect myself." Her response was that I *should* be able to carry.
They don't even know what they believe. It depends on who they are talking to at the time and their nature is such that whatever they hear must be true.
Whoa! How can THAT be??? You mean the "No Guns Allowed" sign and Sarah Brady didn't stop this nutbag from shooting people??? What IS the world coming to, when a SIGN and a LAW don't stop bad people? I mean, it was a SIGN for cripes' sake!
I am unaware of any state that does not have a carve-out for the mentally unstable as well, but this is merely splitting hairs.
In many of those states, hidden handguns are allowed in public places like restaurants, bars, sports arenas, supermarkets and even places of worship.
In all states, in all of those places, innocent people have been assaulted, raped, or killed by criminals. The reason that a lawful citizen is allowed to carry a weapon on their person goes beyond the Constitutional 2nd Amendment; it is the fundamental right of self-defense that any civilized culture (even the UN) recognizes.
John Kerry believes that, by participating in hunting (poorly) and posing as a trap shooter (unsafely), he is demonstrating an "understanding" of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. In doing so, he demonstrates a profoundly shallow understanding of what is considered the most primal of all human rights.
I tried to make my AR-15 into my concealed carry piece, but I found the Milt Sparks Inside the Waistband holster for it to be uncomfortable.
Thes folks are very stupid.
-- A Georgia woman was arrested after pointing her concealed handgun at another mother during an argument over their eleven- year-old daughter's basketball game at school;
-- A Michigan man was arrested for threatening to shoot two other men with his concealed handgun during a dispute over clearing trash off his property;
-- A Virginia man was arrested for carrying a concealed handgun into an elementary school, where it was left in an unattended backpack in the classroom until a teacher noticed it;
-- An Alabama man accidentally shot himself and a bystander in a movie theater showing "102 Dalmatians," when the concealed handgun fell out of his pocket;
-- A Pennsylvania man shot and killed a neighbor with a concealed handgun during an argument over where to dump snow that was being shoveled off the property.
$20 says these incidents cannot be documented.
Yeah. Transitions can be fast and smooth.
What I like about a regular sling--one can still use a ready sling for long range shooting. The Giles (or at least my limited experience with it) suffered in this regard.
