One of my current fun hobbies is analyzing the people who have John Kerry bumperstickers on their cars. Admit it. Don't YOU try to analyze the people who have such bumperstickers on their cars? My first experience with such analysis was in 2002 when I saw an SUV with a Janet Reno bumpersticker. With a lot of difficulty, I pulled alongside the SUV in heavy traffic and looked inside to spot a couple of Janet Reno lookalikes. I got a great laugh from that.
This year my attention is on John Kerry bumperstickers. I have developed this hobby into a form of psycho/social analysis. I will post more of my John Kerry bumpersticker sightings on this thread in the future but here is my most recent sighting:
It was at the Margate (FL) Flea Market last Tuesday. I saw a John Kerry bumpersticker PLUS a "We've Been Bushwhacked" bumpersticker on the back of a vendor's pickup truck. Since this truck was parked there, it gave me time for a deep analysis. It didn't take me long to figure out where this vendor (and his "friend") were coming from because the truck also had a Christian fish symbol done up in Rainbow colors plus another bumpersticker that said "Closets Are For Clothes." This latter bumpersticker was interesting because I also saw it on another car about a week earlier bearing a Kerry bumpersticker. Oh, and the two vendors (selling incense) were very cuddly. Anyway, this Kerry bumpersticker sighting fit into one of the patterns I've been seeing lately.
I saw some on cars.
Sorry, PJ. In my neck of the woods I haven't seen ONE Kerry bumper sticker.
They've all been on SUVs.
Figgers.
oops
John Kerry (sung to the tune of Surf City)
1st Verse
John Kerrys like Al Gore.
I drive a ninety two Civic,
And it's got a big woofer.
(John Kerry hes the one.)
I got a college degree,
Can't get a job as a roofer.
(John Kerry hes the one.)
Well I aint got a job,
Cause I'm dumb as crap.
My parents think I'm lazy,
But I got a bad rap.
Chorus
And Ill vote for John Kerry
Cause he is the one.
Yeah Ill vote for John Kerry
I dont own a gun.
And when I vote for John Kerry
I don't want a job.
I'll just Vote for John Kerry,
And remain a slob, Now.
John Kerrys like Al Gore!
2nd Verse
When I vote for John Kerry,
Its because Im not thinkin.
(John Kerry hes the one.)
I hate my mom and my dad,
My brain is rotten and stinkin.
(John Kerry hes the one.)
I have no logic at all,
Dont make a lick of sense.
Id have to be twice as smart,
To be called dense.
Chorus
And Ill vote for John Kerry
Cause he is the one.
Yeah Ill vote for John Kerry
I dont own a gun.
And when I vote for John Kerry
I don't want a job.
I'll just Vote for John Kerry,
And remain a slob, Now.

Conspiracy Guy 3/5/4
I've seen a bunch. No particular patterns.
Here's a funny. I used to see a car (late model mid-sized mom-mobile car) every day in our neighborhood with a dimwit sticker. The last few months, since the Prince of Flip-flop, it hasn't been on the car...
I don't have time to look at the drivers but I've seen Kerry bumperstickers on a Lincoln Navigator, a Ford Explorer, a Buick sedan, a Volvo station wagon (duh) an old Honda hatchback (double duh) and a newer model Subaru and Toyota station wagon (triple duh). I really haven't seen a rash of Kerry stickers on cars, driving around the Beltway in Maryland. Most of the Kerry drivers have been women.
I haven't seen any. No yard signs no nuthin.
I've seen 3 Kerry bumperstickers, I Clark sticker and NO Bush stickers ... in Los Angeles.
I've seen a few here in the liberal Austin TX area. The last two were on old beat up junkers that I was afraid to get too close to, as they might fall apart. Both drivers looked like 1960 leftover hippies. Both had windows down (in 90+ degree weather) and smoking cigarettes.
Since I live in Manhattan, I am more likely to see people walking around with Kerry buttons than bumperstickers on cars. They tend to be either scruffy young men, many of whom will one day grow up, get jobs and become Republicans, or dotty old ladies who have never traveled further west than Fifth Avenue.
I don't know if this means anything but in a state where Bush will do well to pull 35% of the vote I see barely any Kerry bumper stickers. I still see lots of Dean stickers, though. I have my own that looks like the old "Mean People Suck" stickers except it says "Dean People Suck".
Let 'em key my '99 neon see if I care.
