The REAL French resistance didn't have nearly the numbers that are seen when one asks in modern day France.
You ask some of the Paris old timers and they all claim to have been in the resistance.
If the resistance had the strength in numbers seen in the people CLAIMING to have been in the resistance, Garmany would never have played drunken frat boy to France's lonely ugly schoolgirl.

I believe the number is equal to the number of people I know who claimed to be at Woodstock, those who were Special Forces in Vietnam, Marine snipers, and the number of Israelis who crossed the Suez.
