Ive been told that there are retention problems with senior special forces. Seems that after 15 or 20 years, theyre being offered two year contract at $150 200k per year to work in Iraqi security. Couple that with retirement, and its hard to turn down.
Despite the skills lost, glad they fought a way to finally earn close to what theyre worth nevertheless.

I am also convinced that the Family program has played a major part in the Army's ability to retain their members. A spouse that is taken care of while their loved one is deployed is more like to be supportive if that member wants to reinlist.
