Many Books Warn of Bush - Another winner from the Charleston Gazette (Barf Alert)
Charleston Gazette ^ | July 21, 2004 | unknown

Byrd’s indictment is part of an amazing phenomenon: a tidal wave of new books alleging that the Bush administration is inflicting severe harm on America. Never before have so many books warned of looming danger from a U.S. presidency. Remarkably, some of them are by Republicans formerly inside the administration. Here’s a partial list:

Here's the last paragraph, "Etc., etc. In addition to these, at least a dozen other recent books outline hurtful effects of the current presidency. This avalanche of protest books is the greatest ever seen in America. The reason, obviously, is that never before has there been such reason to protest."

Or perhaps we're never before had so many America haters and pinko bastards.

I noticed in my last trip to B&N that front and center as you walk in is the Bush Bash table, which is totally full of left-wing screeds.

"This avalanche of protest books is the greatest ever seen in America."

Yep...agents of darkness hate agents of light, therefore they react with great weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I have a terrible feeling that whoever wins on election day 2004, we're going to have a blue state vs. red state civil war. May God help us!

What exactly has Bush done to harm America?

Housing ownership is at its highest level in history.
The economy is doing well.
Well over a million jobs created since last summer.
Lower prescription drug costs for seniors.

Yeah, some people are suffering because of W. The ones that come to mind are Saddam, and OBL, who's hiding somwhere in a cave.

Same at the local B&N. I was amused to find - in the middle of a whole table of Bush-bashing books - one called "Casualty of War," which accuses the Bush administration of stifling dissent and controlling the media. LOL

I hope that the Clinton "record" of over 2000 felonies committed in the White House in one 4-year term is a record never again to be approached.

Welcome to FreeRepublic.

Pinko indeed, some served this country in Korea, and Vietnam!!

Say, I heard a rumor like that about Kerry! Of course he's far too modest to mention it himself.

I agree. Then again, I also don't expect the United States to survive another 50 years, I honestly expect a breakdown into several new nations. . .

My comment was not directed towards any of the authors listed. Rather it was my take on the general socio-political atmosphere in US. But hey, I appreciate your attempt to chastise me. Thanks & FReegards...

The late oldrepublican was presumably referring to John Dean.

That would be the thoroughly discredited John Dean, who is not a member of the RNC and who may not even be a Republican anymore. He certainly hasn't acted like one for decades.

What exactly has Bush done to harm America?

Bush made Democrats and Al Gore look like idiots by preventing them from rigging the 2k election.

After 9/11, Bush made Democrats and Clinton/Gore look bad by invading Afghanistan and Iraq, and tax cutting the economic increase in the sagging market after the lows of 2001-2002

In other words, Bush made the Democrats look like "Girlie Men"!

The reason, obviously, is that never before has there been such reason to protest.

They're absolutely right.

The Democrats are finally realizing that the ground they've lost over the last 30 years weren't temporary flukes, that would inevitably be reversed in future elections. And the Socialists are beginning to realize that history is not on their side - that their collectivist ideals will never be realized.

This is their last chance - the Dems are this close to losing power, everywhere, in all branches, and at all levels of government. We're well on the way to driving the Dems into the political wilderness for decades, and the Democrat leadership hates the very thought.

And the Socialists hate it even more, because they know that while the Democrat Party may well reorganize, recover, and return from the wilderness in a decade or two, they'll do it without the Socialist left.

The Democrats ejected the Socialists from the Party in 1946 - and then let them sneak back in in 1967.

If the Democrats eject the Socialists again, as they'll have to to end their coming exile, I find it unlikely that they'll ever let them back, again.
