That was a real good strategy back in the 1800's, before there were nuclear submarines, airplanes, and long-range missles.

"Pulling U.S. troops out of nations where they don't belong would make America much safer than appointing a thousand new intelligence czars."

Only a childish, dope-addled mind could produce such a policy.

It's getting harder and harder to be a Libertarian these days.

This is why I'm a small-l libertarian instead of a Large-L one.

If I weren't home, and a bad guy busted into my place, and my wife was being raped, and my kids beaten...as a prelude to being killed, would my Libertarian neighbor meddle?

I know my dog would be safe...the other neighbor's PETA.

Once more confirmed that Libertarians are juvenile fools.

If one votes Libertarian, they might as well vote for John F'ing Kerry.

Actually, when it comes to foreign policy, the two don't seem to be too far off.

I agree with many Libertarian positions, but this is not one of them. It's also why we must never elect one to the Presidency.

I have always found it hilarious that whenever you confront a libertarian about his ridiculous views on defense his stock answer is to say, "Ever heard of Vietnam ?", apparently implying that a militia is all that is needed.

Hey, the NVA and Viet Cong paid a horrendous human cost for their victory. They lived in tunnels and caves in the Iron Triangle for ten years. Would libertarians live in tunnels and caves for ten minutes ? Would people imbued with the philosophy that they don't owe anyone anything suffer and sacrifice and die the way the NVA and Viet Cong did ?

And they wonder why the mainstream considers Libertarians kooks and flakes.

This is without question, one of the stupidest articles I have ever read.

"Pulling U.S. troops out of nations where they don't belong would make America much safer than appointing a thousand new intelligence czars."

And is there any country, according to the libertarians, besides America in which our country belongs?

LOL!!!! Unfortunately for Mr. Badnarik, the "American Meddling" that really pisses off the bad guys is stuff like free trade and free speech (especially in the form of popular entertainment). American culture, not American government, is what the salamikazes are fighting.

IOW, they hate precisely the things the Mr. Libertarian Candidate purports to be for.

This points out the underlying problem with libertarianism in general: it doesn't work unless everybody else agrees to play by your rules.

Most effective way to prevent terrorism is missing from 911 report

You mean, deporting all Muslims from the US?

And while we're at it, bombing the head-cutters into non-existence.

"Quit meddling in foreign nations."

AKA: Bend over and take it.

Losertarians lost my interest when they could not rouse themselves to defend America post 9/11.

Mental masturbation is no replacement for responsibility and action.

This garbage/lunatic thinking is WHY Libertarians have never and shall NEVER be anything than what they are now... IRRELIVANT AND SILLY!

"You don't see terrorists targeting other prosperous, Western-style democracies such as Switzerland, Canada or Sweden," he said. "And one reason is that those governments don't meddle in other nation's affairs"

OK, I guess it's time for the Israelis to target Europe for some terrorist attacks; because the EU-NAZIs have really meddled bigtime in Israeli affairs. Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. Do you think it's possible our nation's Islamic enemies just happen to be depraved killers?
