Thoughts? Story already been shot full of holes by the Swift Boat veterans for the truth?

Kerry's medals were all awarded according to whatever protocol was in place for the awards at the time. As far as that goes, they are all award by the appropriate process at the time.

That isn't the point. The point is that people shouldn't be putting in *their own* chits for medals. It is technically workable, but it displays a lack of class and lack of respect for the others that went before.

I think the "fishy" charge stands.

Note in particular how foolhardy he was in leaving the boat, which he should not have done. Even those congratulating him for his heroism noted that it's a pretty brain dead thing to do.

I have never served in the military, so people who do should feel free to contradict me, but getting out after four months feels a bit weird. It seems more like Kerry knew how to game the system to reduce his risk, and did. He did just enough service to show that he did, and then fled. It seems a little calculated and perhaps not a demonstration of the best character.

In the end, I'd call that fishy.

Thoughts?

D

I have a friend of 19 years who has known the attending physcian of one (first?) of those so called wounds.

The "wound" was self inflicted by Kerry himself. He shot a grenade from a grenade launcher onto some shoreline rocks. A tiny sliver of metal came back and barely stuck into the outer layer of skin. This bothered Kerry so much that he waited until the doc could extract the tiny sliver and put a band-aid upon it. Kerry wanted the report of course, about his "wound".

Kerry will NOT authorize release of his records pertaining fully to this matter.

The doc in question lives in Scottsboro Alabama, birthplace of my friend of many years.

My uncle received a Purple Heart after he died of his wounds received in combat in Normandy and is buried in France.

It pains me that some lowlife human scum gigolo wounded himself and finagle getting a Purple Heart for it. Its possible that the other two Purple Hearts were slight wounds from actual encounters in combat with an enemy but I have my doubts.

I met Bob Dole, his withered right hand he does not allow to be touched, he extends his left hand. I know that from personal experience.

May God grant us electoral victory over the swine the Democrats are running.

snopes is a very bad web site to get info from.

many times...they show major leftwing bias and make claims that a story is false....even though folks like CNN and ABC, as well as facts made public prove the story true.

Stuff that makes the dems look bad...will usually be marked false by them.
Snopes is a joke.

Near the end of the Snopes piece:

Kerry declined a request from the Globe to sign a waiver authorizing the release of military documents that are covered under the Privacy Act and that might shed more light on the extent of the treatment Kerry needed as a result of the wounds.

What's he hiding? My guess is that the wounds were minor at best and nearly non-existent at worst. There may also be medical info that indicates exaggeration on the part of Kerry, or skepticism that he was really entitled to all of his medals.

Regardless of whether he deserved the medals, I find it really hypocritical that a guy who rails against tax loopholes and breaks for the rich used a military loophole intended to give a serviceman serving with extraordinary valor and/or serious injury a pass to go home. He had the Purple Hearts, but nothing resembling a serious injury, and no compelling reason he couldn't serve out his tour of duty. Instead he conveniently, IMHO, cut and run. No I don't think I would have done the same thing he did.

And what's with all the pics? Did he bring his own camera crew with him to record his military service for future political value? If so, how craven.

And if W gets the anal exam on his ANG service, the least we can ask for is total transparency with regards to Kerry's record....

...oops, forgot, he's a lib. The standards don't apply to his military record, his divorce, or his (supposed) annulment. Nothing to see here, just move on.

When you write your own citation, it is always questionable.

It's a wonder that Kerry didn't put himself in for the Congressional Medal of Honor. The fact that he didn't, just shows what a penny ante, punk loser, he really is.

There should be a way of finding other vets, in the same duty, who got 3 Purple Hearts, a Silver Star, and a Bronze Star in 4 months.

If Kerry was the only guy to do that, then something is definitely fishy, and Kerry should be called to answer for it.

Keeping some of his service records secret also smells rotten, and his antiwar stance after he got back to the states was really discraceful.

I think they are playing on the word "fishy" (ala what is is)

If the question had been properly framed: "John Kerry recieved his three purple hearts due to minimal and very minor injuries? Answer: True"

Lets be plain: Kerry used the letter of the law to violate the spirit of the law and remove himself from viet nam ASAP. Did he abuse the rules? Yes Did he find any excuse to get three purple hearts? HELL yes. Did he do it with intent to get out of viet name because three purple hearts were a go home card? YES

Snopes is just gaming the question to give the answer they want.
