The left is getting kookier and shriller everyday. They are being driven mad with the thought of having Bush as President for four more years. They know damned well their power will be disolved and that's the ONLY thing they care about.

Like everyone else, I look forward to reading the transcripts of this show. Can we finally hope to say RIP NPR?

Moyers is a deranged and deeply disturbed little clown.

Slightly different area, but there is another story floating about the bin Laden family being let out of the country on Sept. 13. Up Chuck Schumer is proffering the story, but when doing a search I found nothing. Has anyone seen/heard this latest accusation? The clip was shown on Headline News overnight.

Keep in mind that Kevin Phillips is NPR's token REPUBLICAN

Phillips has a long-standing intense dislike for the Bush family. A few months ago, his book Dynasty got some attention; he tries his best to paint the Bushes as a totally amoral family intent on using its oil industry and military-intelligence industry contacts to gain and keep power. Phillips is a bit of a crank: In part of the book, he tries to substantiate old claims of an "October Surprise" in the 1980 election (the assertion that Republicans cut some sort of deal with Iran to delay the hostage release, to defeat Carter).

"........Bush arranged so that the hijackers were let through............carefully state things........."

Carefully?

There was just a caller on the C-Span Washington Journal Show this morning (last half hour) that called in to say that Bush will steal the election by arranging for a nuclear bomb to go off in a major American city and killing all the citizens.

Will Moyers ever report that algore dumped a airport security measure that could have prevented this after taking big money from the airlines. Linda Daschle had her fingerprints on it also...

I heard about the story in the days shortly after 9/11. I remember the talking heads talking about it. It's not a late accusation, but Michael Moore's movie makes it seem like some startling revelation. Articles debunking points made in Michael Moore's movie mention that Richard Clarke admits that flying Bin Laden's relatives out of the country right after 9/11 was his decision, and that it was made for their safety.

Moyers is not likely to do a report on the Clinton/Gore Air Safety and Security Commission.

Why did Al Gore really drop out?  12-17-02  WorldNet  Gore Commission/Airline Safety

On Sept. 20, 2001, the Boston Globe broke the story of how the so-called Gore Commission had failed in its mission to address airline safety.

White House Commission on Aviation Safety and SecurityWhite House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security Final Report

Chapter Three:  Improving Security for Travelers

Referred to following potential threats:

Terrorism (general), Biological, Chemical, Surface to Air Missles, Bombs, IED's, Profiling, Baggage Clearance, Airport Personnel

No mention of Planes as Weapons/Missles or Security of Cockpit Doors

Recommendation from Initial Report dated September 9, 1996

The system will be designed and constructed in incremental stages providing varying levels of service as early as April, 1997.

3.17. Establish an interagency task force to assess the potential use of surface-to-air missiles against commercial aircraft.

Recommendation from Initial Report dated September 9, 1996

Assess the viability of anti-missile defense systems.. Whether or not the explosion of TWA 800 turns out to have been due to a surface-to-air missile attack, as some eye-witness accounts suggest, missile attacks have downed passenger planes in other countries, and it is a risk that should be evaluated. The Commission will continue to analyze this problem in cooperation with the Department of Defense and other government agencies.

Status

DoD will convene an interagency task force to examine the threat to civil aircraft.

Damn! I walked into the room and PBS was on the TV. I saw it was Moyers and Kevin Phillips and reflexively changed the channel. I missed it.

Isn't this the same Kevin Phillips that used to be such a right wing conservative and made money out of raising funds for conservative causes? I remember thinking, Why does Moyer have him on his program.

It's the "Law Of Intended Consequences". Anytime anything happens that makes Democrats look bad or Republicans look good must have been orchestrated by Republicans.

The 9/11 attacks gave President Bush the opportunity to prove his leadership capabilities, therefore he must have orchestrated them.

What's not to understand?

I'm all for free speech. Let the Liberal dingbat's shout loudly from mountaintops, the rest of us sane individuals will just re-elect Bush based on the idiotic rantings fomenting from the Democratic party.

Here's where you are wrong. The Democratic Party has existed by psychotically hypnotizing the soft minds for many years now.

The 51%ers see things as "Okay, I see the accusation, I see no response, therefore the accusation must have merit".

If someone makes an accusation and that person is hit upside the head with a bat...the 51%ers come to the conclusion that "this particular accusation equates to having your skull crushed in, it is bad accusation to make, there is a penalty to be suffered for such an accusation so that accusation is just plain wrong".
