That's the real story here, the story the media's desperately trying to paper over. NASA gave the photos to the Kerry campaign for review after the tour was over, and the campaign actually splattered the pictures all over their web site. It was only after the public started laughing hysterically at this dork that they realized they had stepped on their cranks.
That the campaign didn't see just how ridiculous Kerry looked, or even worse, didn't seem to have the slightest clue as to how the Bush campaign might use those photos (even more amazing when you consider how they tried to pummel Bush over those flight suit pictures), speaks volumes about how faulty their judgment really is. And then they actually try to pass these obviously posed photos off as a hatchet job by some nebulous member of the VRWC with a digicam in his shorts. That suggests something even worse - an Algorean tendency to immediately start lying and spinning when caught in a tight spot, to utterly refuse to admit they screwed up, take responsibility for it, and move on.
They could have just laughed this one off, acknowledged that yeah, they goofed up, but hey, that's life and it's just a picture. The comics would have had a chuckle over it for a day or two, but it would have been quickly forgotten. But these Rats are so anxious to portray any snag as a "vicious Republican attack" that the thought of laughing it off never even crossed their minds.
Did anyone ever tell you, you look like a penis with that little hat on?

'I'm here today, on the first day of the Democratic convention, because there's no better place to launch something than Cape Canaveral,' the four-term Massachusetts senator said. He really does look like that sperm in Woody Allen's movie!
Well said! Kerry obviously went to the NASA complex because it was a campaign opportunity. He WANTED pictures to be taken. Otherwise WHY would he have gone?
That's just it..... He WAS in Boston - even threw out the first pitch (if that's what you want to call it) - then he flew to Cape Canaveral for this photo op which is backfiring BIG time on him. Then he flew back to Boston.
I'm still laughing...........
"GOP Tries to Pull a 'Dukakis' on Kerry" is the headline.
This marks the high point in one of the longest chuckles I ever got while sitting at the computer. Thanks, pantseatflyer. :)
That's a keeper. :D
I like that one, it's all too appropriate. However, I think the ultimate caption is:
The Wrong Stuff
Well after this we know that Kerry is no Rocket Scientist!
"Is this normal for a presumptive nominee to STAY AWAY from the celebration, and ALSO go for HIGH VISABILITY trips elsewhere?"
We don't know the answer to your question. However, we now know that Kerry and Terrazilla are both abby normal.
The Wrong Stuff is incredible.
That can make great bumpers sticks
Kerry, the Wrong Stuff!
