We've discussed at length Annie Jabonsen's flight on Northweat Airlines and her concern about 14 Syrians (who later turned out to be members of an "ethinic" musical band.
Tomorrow I have reservation to fly to Los Angeles from Detroit in NW flight #327 with my youngest son (he is 19 years old).
I have been pulled aside in the past and asked to remove my shoes and go through the stupid "wanding" process, but sometimes I havent. All I am bringing with me on the the flight is a carryon bag which will contain a couple of paperbacks and some sandwiches.
My son may attract more attention with his white shirt, black suit, beard and Hasidic hat. He is tanned, tall and fir, but has "sandy" (light brown) hair.
Please pray that we have a safe trip to LA and a safe journey back to Detroit.
Regards, Alouette.
P.s. While I am in LA I will have access to a PC to read FR but not my personal email. So if You want to contact me you sen send me a FReep mail ot to the email address that is included in my Profile.
WARNING: This is a high volume ping list
No checked baggage may earn you some extra attention.
Alouette-
I wish you and your son a safe flight. I believe that you'll be fine.
Allow me to use a bit of levity to make you feel better.
If you're flying Northwest, I think you'll have more to fear from a surly flight attendant than a member of Al-Qaeda!
Just bring your tefilas haderech and you will be fine.
I think the aggrevation and frustration of flying NW Airlines will take your mind off of any other concerns...;^)
Praying and Bumping. Have a nice trip.
Take the traveler's prayer with you.... also, take someone else's dollar for tzedakah... You will have a safe flight. Be well.
Just clicked on the link and found the story of Annie Jacobson and the Syrian ambassador guy. All of that was new information to me. Thanks for posting it. Praying for your flight.
Prayers for you and yours and all flying right now.
Not at all. I fly with only a carryon all the time. I don't get the royal treatment any more than the nest guy with checked bags.
Now, if I only had a one-way ticket...
Alouette,All will be fine,in and out.Prayers.
Prayers for you and your son, Alouette. Go in Peace and with God.
Be safe. I'll be flying in about a month.
I pray for your safety...but I pray also that you and everybody on the plane, in the event of the unspeakable, remember Samson.
There are worse things than death. But sometimes, there are better things than another moment or two of life.
Shalom.
Except for those who would murder us all.
Hope you see this in time. If you do see more than one or two Arab men on the plane, GET OFF!
Love and prayers little girl.
Dear Alouette and Son,
We shall Pray for You for a Safe Trip and also that You will have some time to relax and enjoy your Time Away.
Praying for You Tehillim 91 and Joshua 1:9!
And for Good Measure...The Traveler's Prayer too!
Have a Great Time...And Be Blessed!
Amen ~ and ~ Amen.
But most of all, be careful in LA! That place is crazy!
