The WOT strikes home. My daughter just returned to DC from here in Atlanta on Airtran Flight 62. The departure was delayed two hours. When she arrived at Dulles around 10, two air marshalls jumped up, told everyone to remain in their seats and hustled off an Indian or Pakistanin looking male who had been sitting in the rear of the plane. They also retrieved a notebook from his seat. Daughter said he was last seen surrounded by the marshalls and some "big" DC cops. Sorry I don't have anything more at this time.

Good, they are on the case. I told hubby tonight I'd be stopping a LOT of trucks in NYC, I'd be stopping every Arab, but I'd be stopping so many people no one could accuse me of profiling.

No, she was about ten rows in front of him and didnt even notice him til he was jumped. Interestingly, she says she thinks one of the two air marshals boarded her plane during the delay in Atlanta.
Talking with a guy at work who is a Colonel in the Air NG. I e-mailed him the Annie Jacobsen story. He says that can be explained two ways. There were 4 air marshals on that flight, which is double the normal count. That itself said it was something extraordinary. He said either the feds were tipped off to something and beefed up the marshalls to keep an eyes on these guys and whisked them off afterwards. Explanations came up afterwards as to who and what these guys were, but no explanation was credible or consistent.
The other scenario was that he speculated that it was a test run indeed, but not for the "musicians" but for the airlines to see how they would react. He leaned towards this scenario.
Man if it was truly an accident this dude has the worst luck in the world.
My wife's plane was delayed out of Dulles tonight. According to what she heard, four planes destined for DC were diverted to Pittsburg, one from Florida, and two from the west coast and I don't remember the fourth one source city. I don't know how accurate the info was but the plane she was waiting for was several hours late arriving.
I'll be relieved when she gets in.

I don't have enough information to answer that, Cindy, and I wouldn't want to speculate.
What time were her flights? We had pretty severe thunder storms near Dulles between around 3:00 & 6:00 PM.
Yah, I don't either. It just seems strange that an AM might have followed this guy on the plane and that the "muscians" flight wasn't diverted to a closer airport.

Up to five young men were removed from the flight because they were behaving suspiciously. Flight delayed four hours. Happened this afternoon. No other details.
Good. I'm glad the authorities are doing this. If passengers want to screw around and play games like those jack ass 'musicians' a couple of weeks ago, they should be yanked.
