March 18, 2004 McCain won't join in GOP criticism of Kerry
Mike Sunnucks -- The Business Journal
Arizona Sen. John McCain Thursday said he would not join in Republican criticisms of Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry.
McCain said he is pleased to co-chair President George W. Bush's Arizona re-election effort with fellow GOP Sen. Jon Kyl but he won't attack Kerry.
"John Kerry is a friend of mine therefore I don't wish to criticize him," McCain told reporters at the Arizona State Capitol....
Apparently President Bush isn't a friend of McCain's since he's more than happy to criticize him.

How does one go about registering a complaint with FCC???
Well, take 15 minutes out of your life, look up the FCC's contact information, write out your complaint and send it off. Within 4 - 6 weeks, the FCC will contact you and let you know that they have assigned someone to investigate your complaint. Within another 2 - 3 months after that, the FCC will get back with you to let you know that your complaint is not actionable and the case is closed.
If you want to do something that really has an impact, email the station manager. When he sees the number of emails that tell him he is wrong - AND WHY HE IS WRONG - you have a better chance of making a positive change.

Legal question: is the messenger (TV stations) guilty if the message can not be substantiated as truthful? If that's the basis for the Kerry lawyer's case to stop the ads then doesn't it make sense that Bush is guilty of lying about WMDs in Iraq that was based on faulty intel? Besides, Kerry won't sign a waver to release his military records so this threat to sue is a non issue. I hope the TV station directors understand that.

Thanks for the Education, thats what I was looking for. I have a pubic education and economics weren't taught based on MATHAMATICS it was taught based upon Reaganomics and trickle-down theory and how evil it was. (honestly, thats how they taught it in the early 80's) Thanks for the information included, I have saved it in my favorites and will refer to it often when in the tax debate in the future. I generally avoided the tax fix debate because I didn't have sufficient or correct information to give an argument on. Thanks again...

Human Events has the clip, I would suggest that we all send and post the link anywhere possible. That way it will be seen all over the world, and that will have more impact than expected.

WDTN-TV Dayton's GM went on the air this morning and insisted that his station would NOT air the ad until they could "verify" the truth of the statements in the ad. Yet the station, according to Dayton-area Boortz listeners, continues to air MoveOn.org ads (like the lie-filled Halliburton ad) and others that go after President Bush without any sort of similar admonition. Sounds like a double-standard to me...
It sure as he** does !!

That may be true but Taft wasn't the Governor when GM started pulling out of Dayton. My Uncle still worked there and he has been retired for a long time.

Another thing NCR left Dayton for SC a longtime ago and hurt the Dayton economy and Taft definitely wasn't the Governor then.
Dayton has been in the doldrums for a long time with their liberal establishment in charge in the heart of Conservative Country.
They had a Congressman from Dayton who was perfectly willing to see Wright-Patt close because the planes made too much noise for the area when I was living there.
I detest Dayton and Thank God that I live in the Sooner State now and am surrounded by down to earth conservatives.

Dayton is a cesspool. I can remember when we lived in Beavercreek right at the end next to Montgomery County.
Wellfare cesspool is right. When my Mom told me McClin's daughter had been elected, I couldn't believe it.
My hope is that Centerville and surrounding areas of the County will make it go Republican or at least close enough to throw the election to Bush. Clark County was another welfare county when we lived there and Democrat. I grew up in Miami County which is Republican.
I do agree that Taft is not the right man to be Governor. That was a surprise but then so are the two Senators from Ohio some of the time.

Think that is why I have enjoyed living in Texas and now in Oklahoma -- most people I meet are conservative and our paper, The Oklahoman, is conservative and not afraid to admit to that fact. My Mom cannot believe how our local media leans right after listening to the leftist back there.

I am glad they are going to run it....wonder if they really will, tho.
I would demand of EVERY TV station that refuses to air the ad, that they PRESENT the proof of the honesty of the MOVEON.ORG ads they run about Haliburton, etc. After all,the Swift Boat Vets sent a huge package of affidavits and background info along with each ad to each station. Does MOVEON.org DO THE SAME?
