"Ahmad Chalabi appeared to have been hiding the counterfeit money amid other old money and changing it into new dinars in the street, he said."

Great idea when we printed the new Iraqi dinars that are hard to counterfeit, beautiful notes. The new money surely dried up funds of some terrorist financing.

I have 100,000 of them just in case the Iraq economy ever stabilizes.;o

How the mighty have fallen.

Guess the Chalabi's pre-war plans for their post-war plans have turned on a dime, errr, dinar.

Good news!

Ever since Chalabi was ousted, our intel has been better and fewer of our warriors have been set up in ambush traps.

Salem and Ahmed Chalabi are currently out of Iraq. So where will they show up for political asylum, France, Germany, Boston, Follywood or maybe Russia?

Of course their old Iraqi money is worthless today.

Well, I'm not so surprised about Ahmad, but Salem is a shocker.

"Both men were reportedly out of the country Sunday"

Did someone tip them off?

Its good to have these 2 crooks out, I suspect they wont be coming back to face justice. Unless the country they are in is an ally in the WOT...Arent they in Iran?

"If convicted, Salem Chalabi could face the death penalty, which was restored on Sunday, al-Maliky said. Any sentence for Ahmad Chalabi would be determined by the trial judges, he said."

I can't believe I'm the first -- Iran, of course.

That was my thought as well. I hope this doesn't weaken the faith of the Iraqis in their judicial system. And I hope it doesn't weaken the process of bringing Saddam to justice.

If so Iran wont extradite them back to Iraq, then Iraq has one more reason to be pissed at Iran.

One day Iraq will be back on its feet, Isreal will have taken Irans nukes out, And Iraq might kick their... for interferring in their transition to freedom.

Salem Chabili being interviewed on CNN International now. He is in London, apparently. He says the counterfeiting charge is a setup involving a few bills his uncle innocently possessed. He claims to have no involvement with the person he is accused of inciting the murder of.

Probably!

Iran is probably a good answer. Of course they know that if al kerri is defeated, there would be a regime change in Iran.

Wherever they are, they should be afraid of some Iranian secret agent turning them into dog food. Iran can't afford for them to start talking now.

As Hal9000 noted they are in London.

Will the Islamics there throw a big fit if Blair sends them back to Iraq?

Blair just got handed a big burden.
