Background: In October 2003, the College Republicans were thrown off campus because they refused to sign a non-discrimination pledge. In other words, they did not want Democrats running the Republican club. Mike Adams (Author of the Welcome to the Ivory Tower of Babel: Confessions of a Conservative College Professor provides excellent commentary here
"...the (Student Organizations Committee, or SOC) voted to revoke the registration status of the College Republicans due to the absence of the required adherence clause (read: loyalty oath) and the required anti-discrimination clause in the College Republicans constitution…Because your registration status had (sic) been revoked, the College Republicans has lost all the rights and privileges of a registered student organization..." -Faydra Stratton, UNCW Emperor of Student Clubs
We will be handing out informational flyers to parents at Freshman Orientation and will stage a demonstration that points out the ramifications of discrimination against "sub-humans" like conservatives. (< /sarcasm )
Freepers will be invited to attach red-felt elephants to their clothing in a symbolic statement. These red elephants will represent the singling out of Republicans on campus (similar to the yellow star of David-nazi Germany). We will picket with signs that say, for instance:
Phase 1, which begins bright and early Sunday Morning, will include direct interaction, with parents, at the Wilbur center, handing out "informational flyers".
We are actually taking this hero of conservatism out to eat.

Since both hurricanes will be gone by Sunday, Sunday morning's activities will go on as planned. === Freepmail Taxrelief, Constitution Day, Upchuck or Helms if you need more details!
Post your sign ideas, and your flyer ideas, but don't post a long list of excuses about why you we won't be there (LOL).
Is it true that NCarolina actually does support Edwards, now that he's the VP nomination? A friend in Raleigh said this is so.
BUMP!
If it rains, my signs will run!
The whole state?
You're friend in Raleigh doesn't know what he's talking about, lol.
Yes, the whole state. She's working for the Kerry campaign, and probably listening to the hypnotic voices on NPR. I'm going to visit her over Labor Day. Is there any info specific to NC I can share with her re: numbers for Bush/Cheney?
I live in NC I have not, and will not support Breck boy..
Lets see what some Freepers from North Carolina have to say about post number 2.
Has John Edwards taken North Carolina by storm?
I didn't think so.....
But are there many who will? Any recent poll numbers (that can be "trusted")?
I'll see what I can find.
They should have numbers for individual states.
I asked her why so many from NC support Kerry and she gave me the old, "Many of us remember Viet Nam," and "Nothing will change if Bush wins", as well as "We need to get international support". I'm glad she couldn't see my face--I was snickering at these bogus talking points.
August 3, 2004--North Carolina may be home to the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee, but its Electoral Votes currently belong to the Republican ticket of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.
The latest Rasmussen Reports survey finds President George W. Bush with a five point lead over Senator John F. Kerry, 50% to 45%.
bttt
Who? I'm drawing a total blank, sorry.
I just plotted both those turkeys on my map, and I think these predictions are weird-o.
I need to get Anoreth to work on a real forecast. I'm also coaching her on proper FReep etiquette. If anyone is confrontational, she's been instructed to say, "I'm sorry you're not happy," or "You have a nice day!"
SOME North Carolinians sent Edderds to Congress and told him to "Have at it". He understood it as "Half @$$ it", and he's done very good at that..
No, it is not true.
You can tell your friend that Edwards' "milltown" voted for Bush in 2000.
CD, I'm gonna try to make it there prolly Saturday evening.
I hope to drive a red 2D Exploder,,,with SCV tags.
