Wife #1 - maybe.

Wife #2 - no way.

I just wonder how their kid, Butters, is reacting to this.

Morag

This doesn't sound like a very common name. I wonder it's derivation.

I don't think we should beat up on the wives. I have seen women who have dated or married men the rest of us suspected were gay. Some women are insecure and unsure of their attractiveness and respond to (secretly) gay men because they are the first men who treat them as desirable. I think McGreevey's second wife is a victim here. Even if her husband confided his sexual confusion to her, I'll bet the implicit or explicit understanding was that he wouldn't be messing around.

I don't know what the first one looks like --- but the second one to me looks like one who might see herself as a trophy wife and as long as she had enough money for shopping and getting her hair done figured she was in a pretty good marriage. She might not have married him for sex in the first place but for his political position and money.

The first wife of New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey said yesterday she didn't know her ex was gay until last week.

That's because he isn't a homosexual. He is bisexual. In other words, he'll screw anything. Tammy Bruce, a former leader of NOW and a lesbian herself, said this on her talk radio show here in Los Angeles yesterday.

Although Ms. Bruce is still a lesbian, like many Americans who were formerly on the Left, she's the political light and now is a Republican who supports President Bush.

She ripped into McGreevey yesterday, saying that she believes he is a sexual impuslive who will have sex with anyone who'll drop their pants, male or female. She said he used the "I am a gay American" line to deflect attention away from his corruption. I agree with that assessment.

"He's been a wonderful governor, and that's how people should remember him," she said.

Yes, he's been just lovely! Sarcasm off.

"The divorce became final in 1997. Later, as he was running for governor, McGreevey took the unusual step of sealing the divorce records, with Schutz's permission."

I'd bet the first wife may have known.

Isn't that why his first wife left him in the first place?

So is "Fintan" (Celtic, actually), but I can't find anything references to the name Morag in my Celtic history or mythology books.

It sounds Celtic, though...
