The media has been silent about the corruption. Can you imagine the media backlash if a white STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN governer gave this job to his mistress. The liberal press would have a field day over giving this job to one with no credentials.

Since McGreevey's resignation announcement on Thursday, press coverage has focused on his decision to come out of the closet, with many reports calling the move "courageous."

It's amazing how much courage one can develop while being extorted.

Louis Freeh in an unpaid position demonstrates that the labor market has an unerring ability to set the proper price on an individual's service. We excoriated Freeh when he was a Clinton enabler in Washington. Why should he be qualify as a White Knight now?

Nicely said.

But that does not lessen the scandal of McGreevey choosing a boy-toy for this sensitive position.

No it does not. But I'm surprised so many on this forum actually have some respect/confidence/trust in Freeh. He's got a major share of the blood of the 9-11 victims on his hands. McGreevy's sleazey actions wonderfully epitomize New Jersey politics in all it's tawdry splendor, but pale in comparison to the damage Freeh did to this nation.

Now, I'm not saying that Golan Cipel is an agent of a foreign intelligence service, but his actions are consistent with the way an agent of a foreign intelligence service would act.

Yup...textbook "honey trap". But as long as the media can paint it as a salacious gay sex tabloid scandal, that important angle will quietly fade away.

The media has been silent about the corruption.

It seems to me the media is silent on all salient facts in this case.

Shortly after 9/11 Osama,or a spoksperson for El Quaida said that the reason they hate the United States is because we:1)try to impose our decadent morals on the world,2)are driven by money, materialism and a consumerist mentality, and 3)support and/or favor Israel in all circumstances.

So to combat the threat of terrorism in his state,Governor McGreevey tries to hire 1)an Israeli citizen 2)using an exorbitant amount of other people's money to lure him,in order to 3)satisfy his decadent homosex desires.

Is that chutzpah?

Louie let the klintoons slide, and failed to do his job. This is his just reward from the klintoons and crowd. Louis Freeh as the FBI Director has a swoorn obligation to protect America against all enemies both foreign and domestic. The klintoon's and cronies were a threat and Louie didn't have the gonads to do his job. Regardless of his qualifications, being a coward enabling justice to be obstructed renders him incapable of handling any position of trust. Filegate, Travelgate, China-gate, and Vince Forster's murder(Obstruction Of Justice)/Chinese money laundering to Klintoons re-electioin fund. Louie did nothing, so he deserves nothing for his failure as the Director of The FBI. "Don't cry for Louie Argentina".

What's with the kid's claim that he's not gay? Can someone explain New Jersey politics to me?

It would be harder to claim harassment if he acknowledged he was a sodomite. I would expect he'll deny sodomy occurred and dare McGreevey to prove it.

The terrorists are against decadent morals, homosexuality, and greed. Therefore it is incumbent on our elected officials to be greedy decadent slobs who make advances on the same-sex help. If Gov. McGreevey is not allowed to diddle his boy-toy on the government dime, then the terrorists will have won!

McGreevy's sleazey actions wonderfully epitomize New Jersey politics in all it's tawdry splendor, but pale in comparison to the damage Freeh did to this nation.

I heard on Rush (or Sean) that it was a number of other top Jersey officials including the state highway patrol leader who got Freeh to agree to this and proposed it to McGreevey. And McGreevey turned down the offer, dumbfounding them all.

For all his other failings, I always thought Freeh was one of the less dangerous Xlinton minions. Let's recall Reno and Allbright and that whole scurvy bunch and keep some perspective.

Without such foul masters, he might have had a far better record. But FBI director is two levels from the top and under the Clintons, he was three from the top with Bill, then Hill, then Janet Reno over him to frustrate his directorship. Freeh was never his own man.

Golan Cipel got fed up and quit his job with the state because the Governor was always on his back.

He grew tired of McGreevey "looking over his shoulder" and "ridin' his ass".

I always thought Freeh was one of the less dangerous Xlinton minions.

The GOP is still paying for Freeh's Free FBI File delivery with a smile service, and will continue to pay for quite a few more years.

His most convenient retirement, scadaddling out of Dodge a week and half prior to 9-11, combined with his departments unexplainable non-interest in pursuing leads that would have prevented 9-11 stinks to high heaven.

I'm sorry but I cannot believe a man in his position can be that naive (FBI Files), or that amazingly timely (exit, stage left early Sept 01).

Bricks and bottles should follow this scamster `til he does the right thing.

Sounds right. I guess that there aren't any virgins in this story. Do you wonder what it cost to have the female wife there at the press conference?
