Anarchists Support Kerry

ATHENS, Ohio - A group of anarchists is taking an unusual step to make its political voice heard — going to the polls.

Anarchists generally pride themselves on their rejection of government and its authority. But a faction of them fed up with the war in Iraq say they plan to cast anti-Bush votes this fall.

The voting debate was just one of the topics explored at the three-day North American Anarchist Convergence, which brought about 175 participants to Ohio University.

Some attendees rejected the voting proposal.

"Ultimately, those who are voting are either bad anarchists or not anarchists at all," said Lawrence, a "Californian in his mid-40s" who declined to give his last name. "No one can represent my interests. We reject political professionals."

Others said they are embracing their right to engage in the political process, and plan to vote for John Kerry (news - web sites), Ralph Nader (news - web sites) or anyone who can underscore their opposition to the Bush administration.

Susan Heitker, 32, of Athens, believes that the U.S. government is neither legitimate nor democratic, but she still plans to vote.

"To me, at least, it's important to vote," she said. "There was a time when I was not going to vote, but I really dislike Bush."

Howard Ehrlich, of Baltimore, also embraces his right to "engage the political system."

"I will certainly vote against George Bush because he is leading the nation to further violence and eroding civil liberties," said Ehrlich, who is editor of Social Anarchism, a 3,000-circulation magazine.

Kerry's really leading quite the parade ... terrorists, socialists, communists and now the anarchists. A real feather in his cap.

Oh, I don't destroy property in my own home - only when I'm out with my friends! I'm a social anarchist.

So anarcharchists support a big government Democrat (not that Republicans are the party of small government anymore), these guys need to get their **** in order. An ararchist supporting a Presidential Candidate is like an atheist supporting the pope, it doesn't make any damn sense. Headline should read "Idiots support Kerry".

Here is an interesting description of the Ideal Democratic Party Leader:

He had been something of a bohemian in his youth, and always regarded young people and their idealism as the key to progress and the overcoming of outmoded prejudices. And he was widely admired by the young people of his country, many of whom belonged to organizations devoted to practicing and propagating his teachings.

He had a lifelong passion for music, art, and architecture, and was even something of a painter. He rejected what he regarded as petty bourgeois moral hang-ups, and he and his girlfriend "lived together" for years.

He counted a number of homosexuals as friends and collaborators, and took the view that a man's personal morals were nobodys business; some scholars of his life believe that he himself may be homosexual or bisexual.

He is ahead of his time where a number of contemporary progressive causes are concerned: he dislikes smoking, regarding it as a serious danger to public health, and took steps to combat it; he was a vegetarian and animal lover; he enacted tough gun control laws; and he advocates euthanasia for the incurably ill.

He champions the rights of workers, regards capitalist society as brutal and unjust, and seeks a third way between communism and the free market. In this regard, he and his associates greatly admired the strong steps taken by President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal to take large-scale economic decision-making out of private hands and put it into those of government planning agencies. His aim was to institute a brand of socialism that avoided the inefficiencies that plagued the Soviet variety, and many former communists found his program highly congenial.

He deplores the selfish individualism he took to be endemic to modern Western society, and wanted to replace it with an ethic of self-sacrifice: "As Christ proclaimed 'love one another'" he said, "so our call -- 'people's community,' 'public need before private greed,' 'communally-minded social consciousness' -- rings out.! This call will echo throughout the world! The reference to Christ notwithstanding, he was not personally a Christian, regarding the Catholicism he was baptized into as an irrational superstition. In fact he admired Islam more than Christianity, and he and his policies are highly respected by many of the Muslims of the day.

He and his associates had a special distaste for the Catholic Church and, given a choice, preferred modern liberalized Protestantism, taking the view that the best form of Christianity would be one that forsook the traditional other-worldly focus on personal salvation and accommodated itself to the requirements of a program for social justice to be implemented by the state. They also considered the possibility that Christianity might eventually have to be abandoned altogether in favor of a return to paganism, a worldview many of them saw as more humane and truer to the heritage of their people.

For he and his associates believe strongly that a people's ethnic and racial heritage was what matters most. Some endorsed a kind of cultural relativism according to which what is true or false and right or wrong in some sense depends on one's ethnic worldview, and especially on what best promotes the well-being of one's ethnic group.

Multi cultural-ism, Ethnic Diversity, it takes a village and the evils of Capitol-ism all rolled into one.

Who is this mystery candidate? The perfect leader for the Liberal Left or the Possible new Ruler of the Enlightened European Union?

The above is an accurate description of Adolf Hitler in 1936.

Why I put this excerpt (slightly modified to make it present tense), in this thread is how he fostered the Anarchists of his day to disrupt the political vote, to swing the vote to himself. Let me quote from another article available on FReeper:

Hitler and his fellow members of the National Socialist (Nazi) Party, who were determined to bring down the republic and establish dictatorial rule in Germany, did everything they could to create chaos in the streets, including initiating political violence and murder. The situation got so bad that martial law was proclaimed in Berlin.

Isn't it interesting, that Kerry's Wife is implicated in funding the Anarchists attack on the Republican Convention while we have Her Husband running on Hitlers platform?

Kerry may look fopish in his youth suit and his daisy flower pull chain, but he is a very dangerious man. If he becomes president, how far will he go to implement his "final solution" to Americas "problems"?

Yes my friends, Hitler was an "Anti-Christ" figure, and it seems Europe and the United States are poised to embrace him when he "comes again". Those who do not learn History are doomed to repeat it...

Anarchists Unite!

I'd love to go to one of their club meetings. Wonder if they have a set of by-laws?

I saw this same trend, less advanced with Agore in 2000.

That some are more equal than others.

What about economic liberties? Kerry seems eager to erode those. What sort of fake anarchists are these?

Anarchists, terrorists - both for Kerry. LOL What a combination.

It is also indicative of the lack of mental acuity of the anarchists that they are 'sick of the war in Iraq' but intend to vote for Kerry who has said we must stay the course.

Silly, silly people.

What about economic liberties?

Those would be, their "rights."

Public schools are full of 60's radicals, as are the schools of education that turn out new "educators."

But Kerry voted for the war and has been talking tough, albeit sensitively, about the war on teror. All these anarchists should vote for Nader.
