That's nice to see. It must have been horrible for the Iranians to watch that happening. From what I've seen of the Iranian people, they are far more tolerant.

Perhaps the Iranian athelete knows that they will be beat, and just don't want to lose to an Israeli or lose at all. This could could simly be cowardice.

Don't you love the Olympic Committee. They don't hesitate to accommodate Communist China by referring to Taiwan as "Chinese Taipei", but watch passively as Iran practices such bigotry. Oh la la!!

If Rasmussen had conducted the poll, it would have been "Yes-47%; No-46%; Undecided-7%," until tomorrow, when the Yes/No numbers would switch.

I went to the Iranian.com website and that's an interesting place but with very few 2004 posts apparently. Torontoman2003 was quite vocal, although he can be somewhat reasoned with I gathered.

I admire everything you're trying to do for your country, but don't hide the fact that a lot of Iranians despise Americans, even if they'd like to live here.

Wait, sorry, I posted #7 after only reading the poll forum. it was rather depressing. All the forums are listed at The Iranian.com. It's a lot of English-speaking Iranian expats who really squabble. So the poll wasn't exactly taken by Iranians back home.

These expats don't love Americans but they really hate Arabs. It seems like many blame much of their problems on the low Arabs who have historically held Iran back from countless glories. Americans may be fat and arrogant, but Arabs are stupid and dirty.:)

I wonder how many of those votes are foreign?

I KNOW one is American. :)

The obvious answer is "yes". What self-respecting Iranian would want to have his ass kicked by a Jew?

Michael Moore (Neither Arab nor American):

That's ridiculous! I prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you can be stupid, dirty, arrogant...AND FAT!!!

(Michael Moore leaves thread, goes to "White Castle.")
