Why did Shays have to open his mouth? I think the Swift Vets should file suit against Kerry and Shays for coordination, violating CFR.

"No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them, especially falsehoods that are meant to smear the military service of an American veteran," said Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton. "If I were them, I'd be ducking under my desk wondering what to do. This is a serious problem."
As I said in another thread:
Wow. Talk about chill winds. It's a good thing every book in a book store up until now was vetted by the government and deemed truthful.
Seriously, this is frightening. And, not a little hypocritical. They have no cover from this issue, since Mikey Moore was invited to sit in the Presidental box next to Carter at the convention. If F911 is A-okay, they can't say a word about anything else.

Weel, then Kerry should demand publishers recall his latest version of his biography, and demand that MoveOn.org shut down for the same reasons. And that will happen on next occurrence of a 5th Tuesday of a month where the name of the month does not contain the letter "r" - or the 12th of Never, whichever occurs later...

Because Shays is a complete idiot. He's an embarrassment to the Republican party.

Oh thats right, they didn't.

I call on the lying, Marxist-Communist, canniving, deceiving, condescending, cowardly, feckless and beyond the pale flip-flopper John Fing Kerry to leave the country before he flares an American Civil War that will spill a lot of blood as America will be defended against the Amerikans...
BTW, when's that Hollyweird Baldwin POS leaving the country? Another RAT liar...

Shays and McCain spoke out for the same reason "campaign finance reform" pass, this is an attempt by the political class to exempt itself from criticism. The only way this will work for them is for the GOP members of Congress to say it is unfair to criticize Dim members and other Dim elected officals and Dim members of Congress to say it is unfair to criticize GOP members and other GOP elected officials. Of course as usual the Dims will not hold up their end of the deal but the GOP members fall on their swords.

I hope the Republican politicians don't start buckling. Can you imagine the uproar had President Bush asked theaters to remove Moore's piece of trash because it contained falsehoods? This is about the worst I've ever seen the Democrats and lefties. They have gone completely bananas. Unfortunately the've got the "fair and balanced media" on their side.

"I don't think the Swift Boat Veterans are helping the Republican cause," Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Conn., remarked on CNN Thursday. They're helping the Republican cause a lot more than you ever have, Chris. The minimum acceptable ACU score for a "good conservative" is 80. Your lifetime ACU is 48, the same as your score was last year. That's on the liberal side of things, Chris -- just as your vote to acquit Clinton was.

Well, Chad, how about trying to prove the accusations wrong by releasing Kerry's records before calling for the book's removal from bookstores? Or better yet, why not take the Swift Vets to court?
There he goes. Will somebody get Chad out from under his desk?

...retailing a hoax and should consider withdrawing it from bookstores...No doubt some overzealous zombie-ideologue employees of the major bookstores yearn (are chomping at the bit) to take it upon themselves to oblige the oversensitive DHIMMICRATS/DUMMYRATS. While they're at it, and if they have any shred of intellectual vigor and inner-directed inquiry left, they ought to start removing thousands of titles by liberal authors, books by Franken, Moore,...
