"Why did it take 3 weeks to get the MSM to let the Swiftboat Vets into the newspapers and on the tube?"

1) Because they have been investigating them to find flaws needed to rebut their charges.

2) To give Kerry & Co. time to think of plausable (to them) denials.

3) The MSM probably had absolutely no idea that "UNFIT FOR COMMAND" was going to be a #1 seller, and that publisher, Regnery, could not print it fast enough to keep up with demand. ( basically what you have said)

"The first time the NYT recognized the Swifties existense was to attack them as Republican mud-slingers."

No surprise here. And this will continue, along with charges the Bush campaign is behind the entire enchalada.

"The Vets will not be presented as "sympathetic" figures, they will be attacked personally, not on the merits of their service or the accuracy of their information. This is the second time around these guys to be hung out to dry."

Again ... no surprise here. Did you think suddenly the MSM was going to become Bush cheerleaders? Tell the truth? Investigate in a non-partisan way?

While we're waiting for the shows to kick in, here's a good read about the lib's religious fervor for Kerry.

The Cult of Kerry

Subject: Rood's story

Rood supports the Swiftees contention that Kerry did not attack a numerically superior enemy force while under intense fire.

Are you going to persist in reporting on the irrelevant details surrounding the single VC dispatched by Kerry? Or will you discuss the actual point of contention?

Well? Ar you "smoke and mirrors" people, or "truth" people?

Yep. But it didn't serve the agenda of the MSM at that point to broadcast statements from Bush slamming 527's. Now Kerry has forced them to cover Bush's statements. And they will. All Bush needs to do is let attention build, get full coverage, and then stuff the issue right down Kerry's throat before the media can turn the cameras off.

We should keep track of how many "elected" democratic officials are willing to "carry water" for Kerry (oh that rhymes, LOL).

Anyway, Donna Brazille,John Podesta etc. won't count.

Only elected democrats on this morning's TV show that speak out for Kerry.

I don't see many dems on the shows except for Late Edition, so it should be easy to keep track.

Greetings from the heart of Kerry Country - Boston.
Some morning media observations: On the local Boston CBS news (WBZ) they showed about 15 seconds of the SBVT ad. Same is true of the today show, although they hammered the Bush ad about the Iraq Olympic team.
One last tidbit - I'm growing to really hate Bob Schiefer from CBS Face the Nation. He gave a promo of his show with the local WBZ reporterette where he mentioned "those swiftboat people" GRRRRRRR

It was a term of convenience. Perhaps I should have used an analogy such as About as welcome as lepers at a debutante ball?

LOL. They'l be "presented as liars" (even though they are not)

John O'Neill should have a field day with Rood--er...Rood's mouthpiece.

O'Neill can just challenge Rood to a one on one debate. O'Neill can refute Rood's account where he sees inconsistencies and once that's done, O'Neill can just challenge Rood's mouthpiece as to why Rood isn't courageous or confident enough to publicly debate the accounts.

O'Neill can just tell the mouthpiece, "you weren't there so how do you know what happened". That should be the end of it, but Rood (as anticipated) became the media darling for the weekend news cycle.

"All Bush needs to do is call a press conference and announce that "My oppenent was for 527 ads before he was against them. His silence during the 62 million dollars worth of ads broadcast against me by 527 groups contrasts sharply to his outbursts of the last two days against ads targeting him. My position has been consistent and clear throughout. I hope Senator Kerry will join me in rejecting all 527 ads.""

Excellent! Please forward to Karl Rove ASAP.

" but Rood (as anticipated) became the media darling for the weekend news cycle."

He seems to be a rather reluctant darling. I wonder why he won't stand up to O'Neill himself. I can't help but get the sense that Rood's arm was getting some serious twisting.

F&F: William Rood, the new Kerryite defender, says there was enemy fire coming from both banks of the river.

Wrong incident. Rood was involved with Silver Star. The question of enemy fire from both banks was relevant to the March 13 incident. which earned Kerry a Bronze medal and 3rd PH.

AB, as always, thanks for posting the information this week.

Has anyone seen Chris Matthews in the last two days? Inquiring minds want to know...

Kerry thinks he can persuade us to judge him on four months in the '60s and totally disegard his actions during the last 35 years! Well, I only know one person (a flaming Lib idiot) that is that gullible.

Filling in for Chris Friday, Andrea Mitchell said he was on vacation and would be back Monday. (Probably ducking from incoming fire, avoiding apologizing, and hoping that the furor over his contemptible behavior toward Michelle Malkin will be over.)

William Rood, the new Kerryite defender, says there was enemy fire coming from both banks of the river.

Rood was present on Feb 28, the day Kerry earned his Silver Star. The point of contention that day is whether Kerry attacked a numerically superior enemy force while under intense fire (when he beached).

The incident where most observers assert there was no enemy fire, other than a mine, was on March 13. That is when Kerry earned his Bronze Star (put in for it by Rassmann).

Back to Rood for a second, his version of events seems to support the Swiftees point of material contention, that there was NOT a numerically superior enemy force when Kerry decided to turn into shore and beach his boat. Rood raises a diffference of recollection on an irrelevant point, the condition, clothing, armament and/or age of the single VC dispatched by Kerry.

RE: Fox & Friends - they're saying Rood's story is the Rassman incident. Not so. Problem with these talky-talk people is that 1) they haven't read the book, 2) they don't listen when others are talking, and 3) they have no idea what's going on beyond their teeny little set in the studio. It would be refreshing to hear intelligent questions being asked, with follow-ups, instead of mouthing words a producer wrote down for them.

Few, if any on-air personalities have gotten to the heart of the Swiftees story. Brit Hume, Pat Buchanan, Fred Barnes and some others (notice that they are "older"), have a true grasp of what happened then and what's happening now. Many of these folks weren't even around during the Vietnam war, and they're trying to talk about something about which they will never know.

I'm with Reo! You need to seriously get this into the Bush administration's hands. It really would be an awesome response.
