'Hardball' Accused of Going Soft: GOP Advised to Boycott at Convention

August 23, 2004 -- REPUBLICAN insiders are giving cable-TV political host Chris Matthews the cold shoulder — believing that he has gone over to the Kerry camp — according to a published report.

U.S. News and World Report says Matthews protested too sharply about the Bush campaign's editing of an MSNBC "Hardball" interview with Kerry posted on the party's negative site, www.kerryoniraq.com.

As a result, GOP officials are quietly advising Republicans not to go on his show.

" 'Hardball' may seem more like badminton during the Republican National Convention," the magazine quoted one GOP insider as saying.

"Hardball" executive producer Tammy Haddad didn't know her show was being blackballed, she said.

"We beat everybody up," she told the magazine.

MSNBC has been trying their hardest to woo conservative viewers, and then that little prick shows what a partisan @$%!* he is.

I think at the convention Republicans should make an extra effort to appear on Joe Scarborough's show.

The article also doesn't talk about his nasty behavior to Michelle Malkin

Of course, if little Chrisy apologizes for his behavior, then he can be forgiven.....maybe.

There's no chance of a fair shake with Matthews or Olbermann. Staying away is the best policy.

Let's take a look at how to play the new Hardball:

When I was in my early 20's I worked for CNN as a temp at the 88 and 92 RNCs. I met Tammy Hadaad, when she was the producer of Larry King Live. She sucked then and apparently still does. Meeting people associated with television only served to confirm what many here have stated often: these people live in a dream world completely disconnected from reality.

No, MSNBC is not trying to woo conservative viewers, not since they hired that new head guy, that has been moving the station to the left of CNN. Remember when he first came there, this winter and the Joe Scarborough show got really bad. Pat Buchanan would be his only conservative against two or three lefties. It only lasted about two weeks and the viewers complained enough that Scarborough was able to get some control back, but he still has to have that one lefty flunky on regularly to try to ridicule any conservative guest that he might have. (I haven't watched lately, so my opinion may be out of date).

Taking Michelle Malkin to task proved to be wrong in two ways - he was unprepared as to the topic and his distain for women of her ilk (brainy) became apparent...See 'ya 'round Chris, maybe..........

I will never watch him again after he was so rude to Michelle and virtually cut her off from talking. He NEVER listens!

The difference in his treatment between Michelle Malkin and former Mayor Willie Brown was like night and day.

Yep, Christine went over the line. Can we say he's the press version of HOWARD Dean.

There's not the slightest doubt that Matthews has gone over the line in his partisan zeal to get Kerry elected. It's pathetic.

He's not a journalist. He's a hack. Would many Republicans volunteer to be interviewed by James Carville as a host? There's no difference.

Matthews' treatment of Malkin, on and off camera, exposes him as an egotistical mysogynist scumbag.

Does anyone else think Chris Matthews is cracking up because of his loss of popularity? Remember when he was one of the hottest political shows around? Now he's at the bottom and he can't handle it. He thinks going negative works...it did against Clinton!

Nice photo of Matthews and his troll wife, Kathleen. She's one of the awful local news anchors here in the DC area.

When one dismisses any inkling of objectivity they cease to be worth listening to.
Hell I've even heard Rush change his opinion. Rarely but when objectivity is swayed with reason you yield.
big man Chrissy has lost his facade of objectivity.

IMO, "bought by billionaire foreign national George Soros" instead of "gone over to the Kerry camp" would be more effective and probably more accurate.

Taking Michelle Malkin to task proved to be wrong in two ways - he was unprepared as to the topic and his distain for women of her ilk (brainy) became apparent...

Remember the outrage when that big bully Rick Lazio dared invade Hillarys space during the NY senate race? He dared walk over and hand her a paper and almost got crucified for it.

Heard Michelle on Rush after this happened and he sounded a little in awe of her for the way she stood her ground. Matthews came looking like an *ss but no media outrage here.
