Kerry should pay price for wanting it both ways
Dallas Morning News ^ | 8/25/04 | William Murchison

You know, we don't have to buy every detail of the charges flung at John Kerry's tender carcass by the swift boat sailors he accuses of smearing him.

Look around. It wasn't some malicious GOP marketing firm that started this set-to over what Sen. Kerry did or didn't do in Vietnam. No, this thing began much earlier, and the lad responsible is John Kerry, who, concerning Vietnam, wants it both ways. He seeks to strut around as war hero without reference to events in his wartime past that some fellow citizens find, shall we say, unheroic.

Nobody, presumably, twisted John's arm when, in a gruesome performance before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971, he depicted the American war effort in Vietnam as one long series of rapes and murders.

[snip]

Well, as time is accounted, it was some time ago, and forgiveness never comes amiss, except that Young John, now become Old John, seems never to have felt the need to apologize for trash carelessly strewed in public When he talks of Vietnam (pretty much all the time), it is to impress voters with leadership abilities. This would be entirely fair, were it not that Old John wants his countrymen to look at only one side of that record, the side that he – who else? – puts before us.

That's not quite how these things work. An interesting constitutional feature known as the First Amendment confers on John's countrymen the right to put forth another view of his Vietnam record.

Fret not, gentle writer. John Kerry's debts are being settled. In full. With interest and late fees.

---Shame on the age and on its principles! The senate is aware of these things; the consul sees them; and yet this man lives. Lives! aye, he comes even into the senate. He takes a part in the public deliberations; he is watching and marking down and checking off for slaughter every individual among us. And we, gallant men that we are, think that we are doing our duty to the republic if we keep out of the way of his frenzied attacks.---

Could you please post your Campaign Button again? I must have missed it on the 940 times you've posted it today.

To read the latest on the Franchurian Candidate's bizzare exploits, click the picture, goto "last," and work backwards:

If you would like to help the Swift Boat Vets ( as I have, and I urge all to do-- even a few dollars will help ) kindly click on this logo:

If, perchance, the top "click the pic" link is not visible, click here:

-John Kerry- some selected, informative links...--

I want you to help the SwiftVets-- here's how:

1st download the videos and burn them onto a CD or DVD and Hand Them Out! Take lots of extra copies.

Q. Could you please help those of us that are neophytes how to copy?

Both ads are on the SwiftVets.com site. Under "topics" click on "Latest News".See newbie guides at http://www.doom9.org/guides.htm

Also,

"Please put these ads in MPEG so they can be e-mailed."

You can download the MPEG here!

-more-

FWIW, I downloaded the second commercial, "Sellout," from the swifties website as a mpg file. Then I used IrfanView (available here for free) to create an exe file from the mpg file. The exe file can be burned to CD and will play on any PC without any supporting software.

( Kudos to Fuzzy! )
