"John McCain Hates Bush"
Houston Krone | 8-26-2004 | Wire Service

Noticed that Senator John Mc Cain looks a little pained in his advertisements supporting President Bush? Rock Star MOBY says he knows why: "I'm best friends with (John's son) Sid McCain. Hohn McCain HATES President Bush. He's just doing those ads to help the Republicans." We asked Moby if he'd be protesting the convention. "I'm just going to sit by and watch," he said. "I'm not hopeful."

"John McCain should not be treated as though he were a superhuman. No one should expect anyone to be perfect."

Somebody needs to tell the "speech" god McCain that he is not superhuman. He has fought President Bush tooth and nail ever since he lost the election. Anyone who pretends to take money out of politics is claiming to be superhuman.

"McCain is on the right side of the aisle. So is W."

McCain is only interested in keeping his own seat in power and if President Bush does not win then McCain's status in Congress is diminished.

I agree.

I think what bothers me too is that he is so unwilling to own up to any mistakes. And I can't recall of any time in which he showed a good sense of humor-- I am apt to be mistaken, but in comparison to Dole or W who quip all the time, I can't think of a single humorous line from McCain?

< "No one's talking about how to keep the other side home on Election Day," Moby tells us. "It's a lot easier than you think and it doesn't cost that much. This election can be won by 200,000 votes."

"You target his natural constituencies. For example, you can go on all the pro-life chat rooms and say you're an outraged right-wing voter and that you know that George Bush drove an ex-girlfriend to an abortion clinic and paid for her to get an abortion.

"Then you go to an anti-immigration Web site chat room and ask, 'What's all this about George Bush proposing amnesty for illegal aliens?'" >

People posting and reading political forums and in political chat rooms are too saavy for that. There will always be someone there to dispute the claim and recognize a troll as a troll.

McCain can be a pain, but i have a lot of respect for the man. I don't believe he hates Bush for a minute. he probably did for a while, and he certainly has some issues with Bush (as do a lot of Bush's supporters), but he is genuine in his support. Anyone who can indure what he did and still function at any level, much less at the top of government and politics, has got to have the ability to forgive.

Actually it was a smart move. They know Mc Cain and skerry are joined at the hip. They got himm on the record early. Now he is stuck. Neutralizes his influence.

Why should it matter?

You folks are all wrong. McCain, primarily, loves himself. His hatred is, admittedly automatic, for anyone who sees as a competitor.

McCain has always been an angry man since the Lincoln Savings ethics investigation in Congress. He got off on that one, but has been pissed ever since.

McCain has multiple oxes being gored in this fight.

Aside from his own ethical issues in the past, he also has used his being a POW as a citation of an accomplishment in order to deflect legitimate criticism, and he is a sponsor of the McCain-Feinstein travesty that gives us the worst of both worlds, which he is seeing walked on.

See #50. He holds grudges. But it he is holding it against the wrong peopl. The evil Dums are the ones that put him up as the token Repub in the Lincoln ethics thing. Not Bush 1.

I thought this was interesting, revealing what effect Kerry's current travails are having on his base..."I'm just going to sit by and watch," he said. "I'm not hopeful."

Agreed. However, I still do not think McCain is a reluctant Bush supporter. I also still think Moby is a f-ing tool.

I'm surprised that the Bush campaign thinks that they have to have McCain on the stump with them.

I think it's mostly so he's not stumping for Kerry.

WOW, I wrote it exactly as printed. Does Moby not know the sex of his best friend, or is the wire service that stupid. Hummmm hard choice here.

I'll get blasted for this, I'm sure, but I was a McCain supporter in 2000 and I truly believe he would make a much better President than Bush.

McCain is not that popular here anymore. Our applause for McCain at the Bush Rally was only "polite."
