Of course he did. He's a man of convictions, standing tall.

This just cracks me up. If the ad said "that sporting contest going on in Athens, Greece" would they stop complaining about it?

We need some crack Freepsearcher to find out who on the IOC is supporting Kerry...

This election is turning into a "whinefest" by the left.

I read where the Officials of the Iraqi Olympic Team are furious with the media, alledging that they embellished the story about Iraqi atheletes having hatred for George Bush. It sounds like it was taken out of context. I can't believe ALL of their atheletes can have that opinion.

Great!

It's about time the current GOP leadership get a spine. And it seems to be stiffening going into the election cycle.

I'd love to read that story. All I've heard is the complaining from the Iraqi athletes.

What was the complaint?

This is such BS...ambush (no pun intended) marketing goes on all the time. Wendy's did it during the 2002 Winter Games with actors dressed in hockey jerseys and Wendys is not an official USOC or IOC marketing partner. I want to know who at the USOC or IOC is complaining. I actually know people at the USOC.

I can't believe ALL of their atheletes can have that opinion.

NPR did an interview with one of the Iraqi soccer team members. He sounded very happy with post Uday life. I think you are right. I've only had one close encounter with press ethics and it related to some interviews with an ex girlfriend and her coworkers by a "journalist" for a story. By the time it went to print, the statements had been twisted by taking snippets out of context to the point of being unrecognizable. I learned from that incident to never trust a damn thing the MSM prints.

My bad. It was an Iraqi boxer who was going to box at the Olympics, who had been trained by a U.S. soldier serving there, IIRC.

Hmmm... So trademark protection is no longer a good thing to the GOP?

This thread cracks me up. Copyright infringement is apparently now a sign of having "stones."
