Clackamas County prosecutor Alfred French, who called Sen. John Kerry a liar in a political commercial, acknowledged Thursday that he lied to his boss when confronted about an extramarital affair with a colleague.
Hours later, the Clackamas County district attorney's office said French had been placed on a 30-day paid leave while it conducts an investigation into his conduct.
French's former boss, James O'Leary, said he asked French about the rumored affair with a secretary about 10 years ago, but French denied it. O'Leary said he would have fired French if he'd admitted the relationship because it violated office policy.
French, who said he served in the same military unit with Kerry for two months in 1969, has come under intense scrutiny in the past week as the anti-Kerry ad has become a central issue in the presidential campaign. Suddenly, the well-respected Oregon prosecutor found himself the target of questions about his own credibility and the truthfulness of his statements against Kerry...

All this proves is that French is a Democrat
Just like "nuts and sluts, ala Clinton.
These tactics bring back familiar memories. Sounds like Clintons thugs are on the prowl.
We have Clinton to provide the template though.
These extra-marital affairs are just errors in judgment, don't you know.
Now if the Democrats can just prove that Kerry enjoys having sex with Naval decorations, this can all go away.

Destroying people like French won't do a thing to help Kerry. The damage to him is done. It does show the viciousness of liberals, though.
I hope he sues his boss for violating his civil rights.
After all the President of the United States and half the US Senate said that was a personal issue and had no business being investigated.

Ooooooooh. Suddenly lying about consentual sex between adults is grounds for firing. Kewl.
What I found very interesting was the statement by French's boss, where he said that divulging the affair would have cost French his job at the time. What I found MOST interesting was that the Oregonian, while informing us of this aspect of professional ethics, missed the significance of that statement entirely (ala. Clinton).
Destroying people like French won't do a thing to help Kerry. The damage to him is done. It does show the viciousness of liberals, though.

10 years after the fact, no less.
I remember one way Juanita Brodderick's claims were dismissed was that it had happened "10 years ago, old news, let's move on".
I am just sorry to see good Men getting spit upon again, by a crowd of juveniles that isn't fit to shine their shoes. The SBV have seen both combat and harassment before, and after living 30 years in the shadow of Kerry's treason, they are no doubt determined to face him down. But, it is going to be a rough ride. They will not be alone this time.
