Bob Schieffer of CBS said the speech was too long.

He also said that Bush's speech did not lay out his bold visions for a 2nd term as he had been expected to.

Honestly, I only caught the last 15 minutes of the speech so I can't say if I agree or disagree with Schieffer's comments.

Bush has articulated a fully matured vision for this war on terro that far transcends simply avoiding another attack, as important as that may be. It is a vision for a freerer world and a freerer country. In a real sense, it is a call to resolve and a higher purpose. It is in some ways a call to the noblest aspect of America's character and history.

Bush has taken up the mantle of Ronald Reagan. And now he is seeking to LEAD this nation. May God bless him.

Amen, and well said!

Where are the snap-polls? During the DNC, NBC came out with a poll right away, as did Zogby... They must be really favorable to the GOP.

Edwards is really sooooo effeminate. (Not that that is a bad thing, it's just a thing :)

There were two first week college football games on.

We were invited to Arizona State's home opener where I know they were going to honor Pat Tillman tonight. I passed it up to watch tonight's speech, though, and I'm glad I did.

He sounds like a big baby crying. Not effective at all. And Kerry smiling in the background looks like Laurel of Laurel and Hardy.

is FNC carrying The Undertaker's press conference. Is Elvira Ketchup there?

In LA, I have one channel showing the Rams playing the Raiders, and another channel showing the Raiders playing the Rams.

I am listening to the Hurricane Net now....a little political'd out now.

comedy schtick from Edwards...too well prepared, too scripted, and too cute by half. Folks won't like this...and look at John Kerry laughing like hes' hearing these predictable jokes for the first time.

EVERYTHING THEY DO IS PHONEY

LISTEN Y'all, I want you to pay attention to Kerry's hand gestures...arm movement. It's hypnotizing!!! ANd laughable!!!

Edwards is speaking so people don't notice the immediately contrasting lack of charisma between GWB and Kerry.
