Of terrorist and terrorist supporters, enough is enough.
September 03, 2004 | Ursus arctos horribilis

Posted on 09/03/2004 3:29:14 PM PDT by Ursus arctos horribilis

I am tired of the kid glove treatment given terrorists and their "SUPPORTERS". After the two bus bombings of Israelis, Palestinians ran through the streets en mass, dancing, passing out sweets and celebrating. These so called, "CIVILIANS" are not passive innocents, they actively abet, give succor, aid and comfort to the terrorists. These latest bombings were just one more in a long list of indiscriminate terrorist attacks in Israel resulting in lives of innocents being lost.

Now we have the Russians suffering triple attacks resulting in horrific losses inflicted by Islamist murdering terrorists. These animals have just deliberately targeted little children with no other purpose but to torture and slaughter them.

I have reached the conclusion the terrorists must be out terrorized.

After each homicide bombing, Israel without warning should target a random city block in Gaza, repeatedly bomb it until level to the ground, killing every living soul in that block. If the terrorists do another suicide bombing, Israel should repeat, but this time two randomly selected city blocks should be subjected to the same consequences, then four blocks after the next homicide attack. Even the most cruel, stupid, and dumb beast on earth eventually comes to realize the law of diminishing returns

Russia should do likewise, they should select a village of terrorist supporters in Chechnya and destroy it, along with all the people in that village.

We are in a fight for our very survival, this is not some philosophical, theoretical and intellectual debate, it is a struggle to the death. No longer can we let the terrorists operate with no rules other than those of absolute barbarism. The civilized nations fighting the terrorists cannot be bound by humane rules of the Geneva convention when the enemy is inhumane in the truest sense of the word and are scum of the earth. The terrorists and their supporters must be made to feel unbearable pain and devastation, they must be made aware that their actions brings untold death, destruction and suffering onto their own kind. We in the civilized world are not fighting a civilized enemy, but one who commit acts of brutality which rivals that of the Nazis. We in our time are fighting the very Armageddon battle of good versus true evil here on earth.

In WW II, we bombed civilians, the only difference today is the stakes are even higher. There must be a terrible & horrible price to be paid by terrorists and their supporters, they can no longer be afforded an off limits sanctuary. I do not give a damn about world opinion, Israel and Russia must, and should do whatever is necessary to break the back of the terrorists.

One William Tecumseh Sherman said war is hell, it cannot be otherwise. Sherman has been damned in history, but he and Gen. Grant realized one thing, if hell was required to shorten the war and insure victory, then hell was what would be inflicted. By making war upon the Confederate civilian population, they had to break their will to support their troops fighting in the field. This mode of warfare was repeated again on a massive scale in WW II, the allies made very deliberate and targeted war upon civilians to kill them and break the will of the enemy.

It is my opinion that today we are faced with one of the most insidious enemies mankind has ever confronted, this enemy has but one objective and one goal, to totally and without reservation destroy civilization as we know it and replace it with evil incarnate. This enemy offers no hope of a better world, this enemy tells us upfront they desire nothing less than to cast us back into a dark age so horrible it defies description. It is a total elimination they desire of all who should dare worship any GOD, but their insane GOD of death philosophy formulated by the religion they have hijacked and perverted. Their GOD is a godless entity which denies any other GOD and incites followers to murder all who do not comply.

Both World War 2 and the Civil War are very different from the WoT. We aren't fighting a centralized enemy with a fixed command structure and an industrial/agricultural heartland. Shelling a city or burning farms and plantations makes perfect sense if you're trying to bring about the collapse of a government, but for globe-trotting terrorists whose assets are mostly liquid you need to be more precise. Also, Sherman's objective was to create hardship, not death. Atlanta was evacuated before it was burned, creating a refugee crisis for the south to contend with. He understood that his task was to apply pressure, and that simply burning the city with it's citizens would create no pressure and only strenghten the will of the south to resist.

The same applies in the Middle East and (to a lesser extent) Chechnya. Our duty in this war is to kill the unrepentant terrorists who refuse to lay down their arms and to use our political might to eliminate the root causes of terror: Political repression, lack of education, lack of economic opportunity, and lack of a free and independent press.

Mere devastation has not worked in Chechnya. Putin's war there has shattered organized resistance within the cities, but it also killed thousands and reduced most of Chechnya's major cities to rubble. Grozny is a shell of it's former self, and the resistance has become increasingly more radicalized. A major operation against terrorist groups is called for in the wake of this atrocity, this slaughter of children. However, more destruction will not break the will of the terrorists, it will merely harden the resolve of the Chechens to resist.

Such is not the case in Israel, where they have learned to put pressure on terrorist groups without reducing themselves to slaughter. Suicide bombings are much more rare and not nearly so spectacular before Isreael began applying very effective pressure to the Palestinian people and the terror groups who hide amongst them. Targeted killings, limited operations, destruction of property. Forcing terrorist groups to answer to the citizens that they claim to represent. A suicide bomber blows himself up in a market? Destroy his family's house, turn them into paupers. A man claims to represent the "political" wing of Hamas? Kill him in front of witnesses using a weapon that the Palestinians can not counter, like an Apache. The only real criticism that I have for Israeli methods is that they rely heavily on the stick and not enough on the carrot. They are dealing with their immediate problems, but not working on solving the problem itself.

Create discomfort in the population, work on providing them with alternatives, kill terrorists wherever and whenever you find them.

Slaughter is merely slaughter. It is evil, and is used as a last resort by the unimaginative, frustrated, and morally bankrupt. In embracing it, in calling for it, you cut at the very heart of what it means to be an American.

If the US Navy blockaded Iran by sea and our Air Force seized air superiority of the skies while the Russian Army marches south, would this be a good alliance or against our national interest?

We don't want the Russian Army sitting on all that oil. Joint political pressure would be good though.

"I wonder if that would include the Black Muslim community in the US? Just a question, not a criticism, but what if they turn violent against US infidels?"

Then America will turn violent against them!

Russia has fought islamic empire for 500 years, just as the slavs of the balkans have.

To think they are the fake enemies, when we the US has been the biggest boon to Wahhabism, is to misread history horribly.

These barbarians, these evil-doers, I mean Al Qaeda and their kind, have latched themselves on to every fight the islamic world has had with others, and turned guerillas into terrorists.

way too imprecise...

much better: Any cleric or public figure that gives any notion of legitimacy to any such attacks should be JDAM'd.

Any groups that benefit from this should be considered terrorists. Any govt that even remotely assists or harbors such should be questioned "Are you with us or against us?" and war and regime change is the only response to those that are not with us.

Terrorism is a cancer, and it must be cut out totally from civilization in order to heal civilization.

Let us not Hate our enemy. But let us defeat them, and resolve to never tire of the effort to defeat them.

I can't hate them. I would have to spend too much emotional energy to hate them. I look at them like rats and other vermin that must be exterminated.

Limited wars wont defeat terrorism. Only massive force will. People criticize the Dresden bombing in 45. I dont. It was bombings like that which ended Hitler's rule.

Massive force can't be brought to bear against terrorists because they're elusive and hide in civilian populations. To kill the civilians and terrorists at the same time is evil and will do nothing but create more terrorists in different places. The WoT can't be fought like W.W.II, the enemy is different and the tactics are different. We need good intelligence, flexibility, small amounts of military force, and to encourage economic growth and democratic reform in countries where terrorists recriut and train their members.

There is a reason that Vlad Basarab ( Tepes) became the impaler. The cruelty of the Moslem invaders could only be bested by greater cruelty. He nailed helmets on their heads and spitted them on stakes in front of his castle.

He secured his portion of the nation. The name strikes fear to this day.

We need this kind of resolve.

In a way you are right, but to get the "good" intel from the heart of the war, it must come from western sympathizers among the members of Islam. They must be supported with a reason to "rat" on their fellows who themselves are willing to kill and die for their hatred and belief. That reason is what the above article was about. If they hide among civilians, then we must assume the civilians support them, (or are so intimidated by them that we will never get good intel from them). Either way, they have earned the calamity that will befall them if they don't throw out these martyrs and appeal to the west with words that show they believe their religion is wrong and should be held accountable. And BTW, many claiming to support the west have led our guys into ambush. It is a very bad thing to deal with citizenry who have no problem lying and cheating to help their people prevail. Do not forget the full streets of demonstrators in Palestine in areas controlled by the Islamic terrorists.

I guess in a round about way, I am challenging you when you imply that it is not yet time for massive force against the terrorists and their people. (See your history re: Carthage and more recently the Civil War.) You can no longer sit back and call out idealize platitudes, what action would you take, what would you do to start the cycle that will end this thing?

Civilian casualties is the only thing that ends wars.

WWI had military carnage beyond belief and most of it was a total waste. Trench warfare with gas attacks. It went on like this almost endlessly, gain a little territory, loose a little territory. The population centers of Europe suffered very little.

In contrast WWII took so long because the battle field was so large. It stretched from Great Brittan on the west all the way to Japan on the other side of the world.

I'm not sure bombing Dresden and Berlin weakened Germany , it sure didn't stiffen it the way that the Battle of Britain stiffened the Brits. Hitler squandered the German military. The defense of Berlin was left to teens and old men.

Japan on the otherhand did surrender after the Decimation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Military estimates were that it would coust another 500,000 American lives to take the island.

Since my Dad was in the Navy sitting on Guam at the time, I have no remorse about the use of the atomic bomb.

I think a consideration should be to nuke Mecca during a holy week.

I disagree with you entirely. Take terror home to the terrorists with extreme predjudice. When terror is no longer "profitable" to the people who not only commit the terror but also those who support it.

The majority of arabs who consider themselves "palestinians", support the homocide/terror attacks in the middle east. Exterminate them in large numbers, and they may decide that survival is more important than their terror.

Hitler only had control of the schools in Germany for 7 years, and in that time so corrupted the youth of that country that he had young men who willingly machinegunned naked women, children and old people.

Arrafatty has had control of his brand of arab schools for 3 generations and he is the grandaddy of international terrorism. It was his groups that hijacked multiple airliners in the 60's and landed them at an unused Jordanian airfield.

After extorting millions of dollars in ransom, they blew up the aircraft and so imbarrased the King of Jordan that he turned his military on them, killing tens of thousands and chasing these Jordanian arabs to Lebenon, where they destroyed this country.

Take terror home to them. I think the Russian people should bomb a different mousqe in chechnya for EACH victim that has been killed or wounded by these animals. All on the same day, when the mousqes are filled. Kill the terrorists and all of their families.

I wonder why there is anyone in the bin laden family alive. His mother, wives, children, brothers, sisters, cousins, neices and nephews should ALL be removed from this earth.

Kudos to your father and his bravery in serving. My dad arrived at Guam a couple of days after Japan surrendered. Theirs is the greatest generation.

"Kudos to your father and his bravery in serving. My dad arrived at Guam a couple of days after Japan surrendered"

I don't know exactly how brave my dad was during the war. Unlike Mr. Kerry my dad would never talk about any combat stuff.

He was full of stories about funny things and the guys he soldiered with.

I have never been entirely clear about the whole thing but I think Dad was a seabee.

Dad was 26, married with 3 kids when he was drafted. Had he not been a dad he probably would have enlisted when his 2 brothers did.

Dad was a master plumber and skilled labor in this field didn't get deferments.

On Guam he had his own shop. He was in responsible for retrofit when equipment got shot up, either planes or ships. If it was too bad, he usually patched enough for it to be seaworthy enough to tow back to Pearl.

He was among the men to know if you were a GI. He paid cash for scrap Jap planes and when he wasn't officially working, he made steel bracelets from planes and sold them to GI's as souvineers to send home. I have one.

He also being keeper of many 50 gallon drums was the official hooch maker on the island. He had apparantly done some really big favors for the cooks on Guam so all the canned fruits got drained allong with some bartered granulated sugar and Dad brewed the Jungle Juice.

Every Month ,Dad sent Mom more money than he drew as payment. Mom told about that. He also ran the local craps concession.

He told of being ordered to repair a Jeep for some navy really big whig. The Jeep was beyond repair. He swiped an airforce Jeep and repainted it , His repairs were very well received, it was almost like new.

I know Dad was injured in both knees, but I don't know how it happened.

He was drinking one night with a war movie on and they showed clearing out some of the Japanese that had hidden in the caves. Dad had to leave the room, he was muttering about the flamethrowers.

He talked about the things that he remembered fondly but never about any of the horrors of war. I know he contracted a fungus called Jungle Rot, he had a lot of scarring.

Our Dad's would have been on Guam at the same time at least for a little while.

Dad came home and raised 7 more kids.

My dad was a seabee, too, and has mentioned drinking Jungle Juice on Guam -- it's a small world! He never talks about his service either but I have pestered a few things out of him over the past year because I know he won't live forever and I want his story passed on. He was fired upon (and was sitting in a latrine when the Japs blew up a US ammo dump) but never had the opportunity to shoot back.

I have a small model airplane built out of bullet casings that dad brought back from Guam. I wonder if your father made it?
