Reporter Calls Zell "Psychopath" Spouting Hate Speech
McLaughlin Group PBS ^ | Sept. 4, 2004 | wildbill

Posted on 09/04/2004 9:29:32 AM PDT by wildbill

Transcript of Sept. 3 show is not yet available, but reporter Larry O'Donnell kept calling Zell Miller a 'psychopath' because of his remarks at the Republican Convention.

Does anyone see the irony here? They level personal attacks with hateful speech against anyone who doesn't agree with their views.

In my book, Zell Miller is an old-fashioned patriot and a Marine who called John "Waffle" Kerry out and tells it like it is.

We ought to start compiling a list of their hate speech and throw it back in their faces.

They can't stand the heat Zell put under their butts and will try to counter it by slimy personal attacks.

It's only because Zell has a Southern accent that they call it hate. The content of his speech was focused on Kerry's record.

Why do the Dems wonder why they have lost the South?

The regional predjudice is astonishing.

If you haven't already read it, read:

Speeches such as Miller's don't play well in certain sophisticated circles. He's got that funny accent, after all. And, in the vernacular of his native South, t'weren't nothin' nuanced about Miller's speech. However, there's nothing nuanced about terrorists who hijack airplanes and plow them into buildings; who blow up buses filled with children; who sever the heads of kidnap victims for prime-time recruiting films.

What such times call for are the qualities and strategies Miller colorfully described: "No matter what spider hole they may hide in or what rock they crawl under, George Bush wants to grab terrorists by the throat and not let them go to get a better grip."

I think the funniest contradiction is their mantra, on one hand, that Democrats are the party of inclusion and tolerance. On the other hand, they insist that there's no room in their party for Zell. "He should just become a Republican". No, he's more useful to us right where he is!

they sure didn't mind Zell's Southern accent in '92 (or Slick's for that matter) when he lambasted 41.

The one thing [Senator Lindsey] Graham liked most about Wednesday night’s convention session was that “we finally had someone without an accent speaking. I understood everything Zell Miller said,” he said...

Haw, haw, haw!!!

Here's the article.

You know it was a good speech if the Democrats resort to name calling, because the simple truth of the matter is they can't dispute any of the facts contained in the speech.

Spin this like the crapweasels would! "Now that the critics of Miller's speech have raised the issue of Kerry's treasonous actions..."

That's where we have to get to in the next several weeks. The SwiftBoat Vets were great because they got the discourse going. But, it is a false path, all it does is focus the debate on how much of a hero Kerry was.

We must emphasize that Kerry, like Benedict Arnold, after heroism on behalf of the US, turned traitor and worked against the interests of our nation. "But, he is a Senator!" He is still a traitor!

Kerry is playing another clever word game. He holds up his Nam service and complains, "They are questioning my patriotism!" No, we are questioning your patriotism because of your treason and consorting with the enemy and 20 years of Senatorial efforts to try to weaken the US and put it's strength in the hands of those who have other objectives.

You are damn right I question Kerry's patriotism!! He is a traitor!! Let's get to that!!

What's interesting, the word "psychopath" has pretty much been expunged from the lexicon, at least when applied towards personalities that truly merit the adjective. But notice that Sen. Miller has been identified as "hateful" for merely pointing out the obvious. In the old Soviet Union, he'd be a prime candidate for a public re-education, an examination of his opinions, which aren't in keeping with the group-think mentality. When the right people start whining, you can tell he must really be on to something.

Yes, no outrage whatsoever from the liberal media when Kennedy, Daschel, Dean, etc. routinely go over the top. Media criticism is selectively reserved for Republicans.

Blankley sat there with a Blankley look on his face.

Buchanan didn't say much. By the way, he was on Tavis Whatisname on PBS show touting his book last night and really tore into Bush on Iraq. As Tavis said, he didn't have to do much criticizing of Bush since Buchanan was doing it. Buchanan said he still supported Bush for other reasons--but he was wrong on Iraq.

Clift was screaming as usual but about Zell.

McLaughlin has become a liberal Democrat. Wait until you seee the transcripts or look at some of his past ones.

Nonsense. His being from the south has nothing to do with it.

Laura Ingram had a call in poll as to the best line of the convention. Zell's line about spitballs was the overwhelming winner. Some liked Arnold's "economic girliemen" (that was my favorite) but most felt it was Miller time.

Correct. I also note that when the leftists in the media give Kerry and easy ride right up to the DNC, those same jerks become quite perturbed when Kerry's voting record, anti-Military pattern and leftist radicalism finally come under scrutiny. I am surprised that Zell did not also highlight Kerry was against the M-1 tank and the AH64.... I know, the list is too long and he didn't have enough time... (which is actually true). Imagine being in the armored cav and you only have a sheet metal pickup truck as "armor" or worse yet, a camel?

All anyone needs to know about O'Donnell and why Chrissy likes him so much.

http://broadband.msnbc.com/id/3080444

--------

From 1993 through 1995, O’Donnell was the Democratic Chief of Staff of the United States Senate Committee on Finance. The Committee has jurisdiction over legislation involving taxation, international trade, health care, Social Security, welfare, and other income security programs. In 1992, he was Chief of Staff of the United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.

From 1989 until 1992, O’Donnell served as Senior Advisor to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. He began his professional association with Senator Moynihan as Director of Communications in the Senator’s 1988 re-election campaign.

I have a better idea. Have all the Freepers start a major national "daily" and get the word out (minus any leftist/liberal editing). Despite our scrapes, occasional ad hominem attacks and "sibling rivalries", I think that this is possible. There is a pretty broad spectrum of similar-minded individuals on here, yet with different ideas and approaches about the same problems. I bet we could give the liberal press hell, and backup the other patriotic Americans trying to take a stand... I can see it now on every street corner "The Freerepublic" ... (under careful guard from leftist vandalism of course)

Its really pathetic that the media "journalists" won't delve into Kerry's voting record with the same unbrideled enthusiasm they have when dig into Bush's past. The hypocracy is amazing, but at least there's now widespread skepticism in the general public about the media's credibility.

O'Donnell is an agent for the far left Liberals. The only shows that will have him on is Hardball and Scarborough, and both of them are at the bottom of the charts for listeners. He's a bigger idiot than Chris Matthews. And what is going on with Scarborough? He used to be a Republican and now he is in love with Ron Reagan the pansy.

Of course, that fact will appear nowhere in print.

FoxNews' total domination of the ratings marks the beginning of the end of this style of journalism.

Commie Eleanor Clift also told another whopper when she yelled at Buchanan that more Americans were killed in Vietnam when Nixon was President than when Johnson was.

The truth is irrelevant to bowel movements like O'Donnell and Clift. John McLaughlin should be ashamed of himself for letting the crap that those two lying hacks spew to continue.

One of Pope John Paul IIs best decisions was forcing McLaughlin to choose between the Priesthood and politics.

(came back as quickly as possible) I bet I missed that part (probably while I had to briefly relieve myself, I still tried to listen, even had 2 TVs on so I wouldn't miss much from room to room). I will examine the full text of his speech. It is significant, as it is rare for a Democrat to admit that his Party is wrong. Thanks for the correction. Glad to hear he mentioned the AH64. This is one of the assets he voted against that directly impact our guys at the individual level.
