Iraq is now saying Saddam is going on trial in weeks. More Bump on the way I suspect.
I hope it is broadcast. And dubbed in English.
Quick Iraqi trial, a quicker Iraqi appeal, then a big tall tree with a stout, short rope.
Hang him in October
I find the timing to be very suspicious.
Misery loves company.
I will be disappointed if they dont give atleast saddam death.
Nothing could help Bush more on the Iraq issue than to parade out the horrific crimes of Saddam Hussein. I have been hoping for this for many months.
Perfect........ if it happens before the election. Get some more of those whacko pro-Saddam protesters out in the streets during the trial telling all of America and SeeBS that Bush is evil. Do us a favor you whackos, protest all you want.
Give War a Chance
Looks like the Iraqi leaders are casting their "vote" in the 2004 election for GWB.
This is good news.
Saddam's atrocities being broadcast throughout the world should help weaken the left's and Muslim support for the "Minutemen" "insurgents" that are attacking the Coalition and Iraqi citizens.
They are nothing more than vermin who supported a butcher.
KUWAIT (Reuters) - Iraq (news - web sites)'s toppled leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) and his top aides will go on trial within weeks, Iraqi Minister of State Kasim Daoud said on Sunday.
Daoud told a news conference in Kuwait City after talks with top officials that "Saddam Hussein and his band will stand trials within a period of weeks."
Asked if the United States will play any role in the trials, he said: "We have barred the Iraqi government from playing a role, how can we allow a foreign faction to have a role in Saddam Hussein's trial? No...Saddam Hussein will be tried by the Iraqi judiciary and it will issue its just sentence against him."
In mid-August, Iraq's Interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi urged an Iraqi court to speed up proceedings against Saddam.
Saddam -- removed in last year's U.S.-led war on Iraq -- was arraigned before an Iraqi judge on July 1 and charged with crimes against humanity.
Several of his top aides also appeared separately before the same judge for their arraignment. Pending trial, they are being held in a secret location by U.S. forces under Iraqi jurisdiction.

Well sure, but I have to wonder if the capture of
al Douri was a trigger for this.
Based on reports of how alD's personal entourage
fought to prevent the capture, and then attempted
to free him, it's clear that he could have been a
serious threat to a public trial at a known location.
Plus, aLD can now join Saddam in the line up.
Hanoi John French Kerry was against the trial of Saddam before he supported it. or is it the other way around? you never know with that guy ... ROFLMAO
Yes, testimony of the evidence against Saddam in the nightly news leading up to the election will be a big plus for Bush.
It will be pretty difficult for Kerry and the left to keep criticizing Bush on the war while witnesses are publicly testifying to the cruelty, rape and mass murder of Saddam's regime.
Reporter on ABC radio news at 2:00 a.m. Eastern time, "The U.S. will have NO influence over the trial of Saddam." (Yeh sure, except for the date of the trial. I'm glad if they're going to do it right before the election. Nice touch.)
