Senator Kerry, what does F stand for?
As the final push for the presidency is in full gear, Democrat, presidential nominee John F. Kerry has found himself in a real quagmire. Historically, Labor Day gives the nation a better sense where the race may go in November. This year’s holiday finds Kerry trailing after a no bounce “so-so” Democrat convention, a healthy bounce from the Republican convention for President Bush and daily nuggets regarding Kerry’s military service questioned by fellow Vietnam Veterans. National polls are reflecting a dilemma Kerry finds. Just what should the very French looking, Vietnam War attendee, John F. Kerry do to turn his floundering campaign around with only weeks left in the countdown to Election Day?
Just when Democrats might think all is lost, they will be pleased to know Kerry found yet another strategy. Senator Kerry is beginning to assail President Bush's record, repeatedly telling all that the "W" in Bush's name stands for "wrong -- wrong choices, wrong judgment, wrong priorities, wrong direction for our country." Now that ought to do the job, don’t you think?
Certainly, the Republicans will wish they had come up with such a clever line of attack. Just think what they could do with the F in John F. Kerry. With his many years in government service that are now in hiding, no-Kerry-name on major legislation, and his liberal credentials used only when needed, F words such as failure, fraud, fake, foolish and forgery could easily go with John F. Kerry, if so wished.
However, bottom line, F will stand for fortunate as in fortunate for Senator Kerry that Republicans will not find that strategy particularly presidential.
