Now that Rather's career is essentially over, will he do the honorable thing. Hari Kari comes to mind.
I'd RATHER he simply tell the truth. RATHER! Har har har!
Dan Rather should resign or be fired !!
CBS news should fire Dan Rather for not being absolutely positively certain of the authenticity of these forged documents. We are in the absolute final leg of a Presidential election and Dan Rather rushed to press to get these dociuments on the air because he thought it would potentially help Kerry and hurt Bush. He is blinded by his partisanship and is not fit to be a journalist.
Dan Rather never even looked into where these papers came from. It was his job to be CERTAIN of their authenticity. It's fitting that Rather's career comes to an end under this cloud of his extremist partisanship. He will always be remembered for this. His legacy will be fitting....a reporter who would lie to America if it supported his Left Wing Ideology.
How many other CBS stories intentionally relied on fakes?? How many fake corporate douments?

I asked the same question of my family last night - how many times has this happened, unchallenged? How many stories were outright lies, designed to influence the course of history into a left-ward swing?
It is mindboggling...
1. CBS oft goes by it's other name; "Clinton Broadcasting Service.
2. Clinton is a known, convicted, accomplished liar.
3. So, therefore, is CBS.
4. They employ both empty talking heads (Rather) and very skilled spin artists.
5. The real enjoyment of this whole thing will come when the "spin doctors" at CBS try to spin this amatuerish attempt to smear the President.

The other networks should be doing their expose's on 60 minutes. The successor's title is up for grabs. If they go afters this, the competition will never have to deal with 60 minutes again.
(how many of those reporters were rejected for the 60 min gig and now they can get revenge.)
