Now it's starting to look as if CBS was not duped, but was complicit.

re: Memogate is irrelevant.)))

I think, that like the Swift Boat Vets, this is a separate grudge. There are those here who remember 1972-3 as the era of the Heroic Journalists Who Bring Down Presidents. What Rather did then was to accuse Nixon of doing what Rather has done this month.

Dan used to control a lot of media and he was an arrogant bully. Now he's exposed. He's definitely relevant--not to the election, but to the Vast Right Wing Pajama Party.

I would not trust Fineman of Isikoff. One should seek additional, independent sources for their "facts."

apparently including two nervous breakdowns, if we can believe the article. He is Not the kind of source I would want a lot riding on.

Make that three nervous breakdowns. Unimpeachable nervous breakdowns.

Groan!...I wonder if he has a word processor?

Well one would think if Burkett (a retired Lt.Col.)had his hand or processor in these docs he would know how to abbreviate Lt.Col.
of course that could be just to throw the dogs off the scent...

I think that they still oversampled Republicans in this poll too. However, as in the last poll, they weighted the results. What we don't know is if the weighting stayed the same from last week to this week.

"Burkett, the unimpeachable source. LOL.
It all makes sense now. The clown is still trying to prove his 1997 story ans CBS fell for it. What dupes."

Exactly so. He wanted to 'prove' his story, but didn't have the evidence so he manufactured it. It's just got to be him. He has the grudge history, and mental illness, and the intimate knowledge of ANG documents. He's the perfect candidate to do this.

My view of Bill Burkett is as a possibly obsessed person who might provide the material CBS was so keen to get.

I agree. Burkett provided the information "as he remembered" to the person who actually typed the forged memos. It could have been a woman who wasn't familiar with the ANG format.
