"I am one of the pioneers of electronic typesetting. I was doing work with computer typesetting technology in 1972 (it actually started in late 1969), and I personally created one of the earliest typesetting programs for what later became laser printers, personally created computer fonts, and helped create programs that created computer fonts." "I was a certified Adobe PostScript developer" " I have written about Microsoft Windows font technology in a book I co-authored, and taught courses in it. I therefore assert that I am a qualified expert in computer typography." "The probability that any technology in existence in 1972...

First off, before I start getting a lot of the wrong kind of mail: I am not a fan of George Bush. But I am even less a fan of attempts to commit fraud, and particularly by a complete and utter failure of those we entrust to ensure that if the news is at least accurate. I know it is asking far too much to expect the news to be unbiased. But the people involved should not actually lie to us, or promulgate lies created by hoaxers, through their own incompetence.... This is a long page with many graphics...click on...

The story Dan Rather did on Wednesday night on CBS 60 minutes was wrong? Dan Rather used fake documents? NO WAY i cant believe that the integrity of a CBS to totally run fake documents is beyond them... :)

This idiot needs to take his head out of the computer for a few minutes and smell the flowers!

"But the people involved should not actually lie to us, or promulgate lies created by hoaxers, through their own incompetence."??

What if "the people involved" are the enemies of the state? Is it okay then?

Incompetence my butt!

I am not a fan of George Bush.

This statement right here negates any intelligence in this article.

This was probably a private prank that was circulating within the Kerry campaign, and was slipped to Dan Rather with a breathless explanation of "These just surfaced!"

That wily old catfish Dan rose to the bait, and swallowed the story hook, line and sinker. Funny, you wouldn't think he would be caught so easily, but then, pickings had been poor lately, and he was a little hungry.

Wolf Blitzer was probably aware of the same "story", but he can still show a little native caution.

The Kerry campaign core people probably did not set out to end the career of Dan Rather, and they surely had no intention in stepping into water that was over their head, but they are amateurs, and they were dealing with sharks that had just been introduced to their campaign (Begala and Carville). The sharks had no sense of loyalty to anyone other than the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001", for whom they were doing the hatchet work on what remains of Kerry's credibility,

With friends like these....

I hate to say it folks but this story is fading fast. The ONLY net covering it is FOX, and they're NOT covering it from the perspective that the documents are proven fakes. The media spin on this at this point in time SHOULD be, "Who faked the documents and who knew about it?" It should be a 24/7 drum beat. But it's not.

FOX is our only hope and for some reason they aren't taking it on the way it should be. This is like the Klinton years all over again.

If someone had come forward presenting a “lost” painting by Leonardo da Vinci, which used acrylic paints including Cadmium Yellow and Titanium White, art experts would roll of the floor laughing at the clumsiness of the forgery
