I read another poll of Euros. They asked "Do you want a strong American president". About 80 % said no, they want a weak president to win.
Hmmm, I wonder why they favor Kerry?

Why doesn't anyone ever ask us who we'd vote for in Europe? Why the hell do we care so much about the opinions of borderline dictatorships when they don't give a damn about ours?

I hereby do nominate John Francois Kerry to be the first president of Western Europe.
Can someone please second my nomination?

I don't know why media organizations are putting out polls like these, unless they really want Kerry to lose. I can see a lot more people voting for Bush to annoy the Western Europeans who want a weaker America.

Somewhere on FR yesterday an article was posted, written by a European that trashed conservatives (we're all fat, stupid, live in the interior of the country, i.e. the red states) compared to the enlightened elite living on the coasts, i.e. blue states. But this Euroweenie swerved accidentally into the truth, which is this:
1. The majority of Americans do not care what Europe thinks, particularly since most of us are here because our ancesters chose NOT to be Europeans.
2. Hoping Americans will vote for your candidate based his seeking solidarity with and approval from European leaders is a colossal mistake.
I spent time in Europe and like the place, but there is no way I would give up being an American, or a Texan. It will probably piss these people off to realize they are helping GW with articles like this.

Europeans can't even own weapons like us. There own governments don't even trust the citizens. In my mind, they are slaves. Thank God for the American Revolution.

Yep! They marched in droves against Reagan. The left is proven wrong over and over again.

If Western Europeans Could Vote: Kerry 56%, Bush 9%, Nader 5%, Other/Undec 31%
And if Martians could vote, it would be Bush 99%, and Kerry and Nader would split the remainder. This is, without a doubt, the stupidest story I have seen yet on our election. Doubtless, the sole intent is to get the Dems frothing at the mouth over the potential to open the American political system to western Europeans so that they would never have to run for another office.
But, that's just not how our system was created. Too bad, Euroweenies.

If Western Europeans could be relied upon to do anything right we would not have had to twice come to their defense. They have not learned from history so they will be forced to relive it yet again. Alas, Neville Chamberlain is alive and well.

What pointless mental masturbation.
I'd like to see what Americans think of European politicians. I wonder if they could include a box that says "All of them can roast in Hell except Tony Blair".

I can't ever remember the press taking such an interest in the hypothetical European vote. Obviously they are trying to highlight what they believe it Kerry's strong point.
Note to press: If Europeans want to vote, move to America, go through the process of becoming a citizen and vote. Until then this is irrelevant and ridiculous.
