CBS shouldn't get to moderate debate; Where can we voice our displeasure?
National Review ^ | NRO Editors

... one of the greatest gifts in terms of exposure and responsibility in the fall campaign is being handed to a representative of the CBS News division. This cannot stand, and Republicans in particular ought to scream about this choice, given the evident disregard CBS has for fairness and accuracy.

Schieffer should be replaced by someone from some other organization.

Does anyone know who to write to express our displeasure with the moderator of this debates? An email address would be nice.

I imagine the best place would be the RNC. They negotiate all this stuff. Personally, I have no problem with Bob Schieffer moderating. He's a smart, serious guy who won't let the debate get out of hand. Seems like he will keep the debate to serious issues instead of irrelevent nonsense. Just because Dan and his producer are acting like children doesn't mean Schieffer is out of line. Causing a fuss about this would make the RNC look peevish.

What the xxx did Alan Colmes just say? Was it that too much is focused on the authenticity to the documents and not enough on the contents of it? Please tell me I am too deaf too trust my hearing. Can anyone clarify?

I can't believe they could do any worse than Lehrer who wrote a book fantasizing about being a biased anti-republican debate moderator.

I think it's actually good if they throw Bush a lot of hard questions and soft ball kerry. It will make all the undecided voters feel better about voting for Bush because their nagging uncertainties about the hard questions will be answered while they'll still be uncertain about Kerry because he was never asked anything difficult... Leher's book

Don't push too hard. I suspect that CBS will go out of its way to be fair to Bush in this debate, and if it is not, then it will make itself the issue.

You're kidding me? You mean someone can commit fraud, focus us on a bogus issue, and then say, like some Monty-Python character after the fraud is discovered, "Well, it could have been true, couldn't it? What would you have said then, heh? Heh?" This from newsrooms around America.

Where do we go to register our complaint? Can't afford to let them sway the vote by having control of the debates.....

That's a good point. Everyone will be watching Schieffer like a hawk.

You may be right, but CBS is already the issue. Schieffer is an old buddy of Rather.

Schrieffer is just as bad as Rather. Plus a message needs to be sent. CBS is now on the same level as the National Enquirer...and I hate to demean the NE like that.

Schieffer always seemed O.K. Who knows what his relationship with Dan is. For all we know they could be arch enemies, with Dan giving Bob noogies in the CBS lunchroom. Maybe Dan's throwing a tantrum because Bob got the big moderator spot.. or because Bob got the big office next to the water cooler.

i was asking my self that same question earlier. CBS has proven that it is in collusion with the kerry campaign. james baker needs to demand a new moderator before accepting the sept 30 debate.
