Dan Rather: "powerful and extremely well-financed forces"
New York Observer ^

Mr. Rather said that the focus on questions over the veracity of the memos was a smoke screen perpetrated by right-wing allies of the Bush administration.
"I think the public, even decent people who may be well-disposed toward President Bush, understand that powerful and extremely well-financed forces are concentrating on questions about the documents because they cant deny the fundamental truth of the story," he said.

We are the Sharks... he tried to jump the shark infested waters of the Internet news/blogs... it was further and deeper than he thought. He is now trying to swim for shore but does not know which way to go... while we circle closer and closer and closer.
To be continued...

I am stunned by the relevance and accuracy of Dan's reportage as I sit here in my cloth-of-gold pajamas, lighting a thousand dollar cigar with a million dollar bill. For that sort of menial task, I generally ring the cigar and loose-change stewards.

Presumably, if he held the "story" for 5 years, then released it only when he had "documents", he is admitting the story was no good without more proof. If the "proof/documents" are bogus, then there is no story again. Also, by continuing to stand behind these documents Dan is admitting that the story will fall apart without them.

When Hillary first made that VRWC comment, I thought she had made an incredible mistake. I thought she would be the laughing stock of the nation in a few days.
Imagine my surprise a few days later when polls showed the majority of Americans believed what was later proven to be a bald faced lie.

Blather and the rest of the MSM stooges are unable to grasp the reality of what they now find themselves engulfed in.
For decades, they held unquestioned supremecy over information, and their panicking because they see it slipping from their fingers.
Say goodnight Gunga Dan, Petah the Imperial and Thomas Brokejaw.
And say hello to the new revolution.

One minute we're a rag tag group in our pajamas, next we're "powerful and extremely well-financed" - as if even the powerless and poverty stricken couldn't see through the forgery he tried to pass off.

According to Dan Rather we are the "powerful and extremely well-financed forces". LOL! Then how does Dan explain my checking account??

"I think the public, even decent people who may be well-disposed toward President Bush, understand that powerful and extremely well-financed forces are concentrating on questions about the documents because they cant deny the fundamental truth of the story," he said. This is insane. If you hold up a document and say, "This proves X, Y, and Z," then someone points out that the document is fraudulent, you can't then say, "Nevertheless, X, Y, and Z are true and you must address those points." It's nuts.
