Dan Rather of See BS delivered the “Bombshell” of proof (sarcasms)

Posted on 09/16/2004 12:09:58 PM PDT by JeffersonRepublic.com

Rather of See BS delivered the “Bombshell” of proof that the Presidents National Guard documents are indeed authentic. Rather said this morning, “it’s almost funny, the evidence is right on the document itself.” He is referring to the date that is type on the National Guard documents. Rather follow with, “don’t get lost in the minor details like the font, addresses, or witnesses that deny the letters are legit. Just look at the date printed on the paper it proves that President Bush is a republican liar, the Kerry campaign is backing me up on this. After all, think about it, would John Kerry give me bad documents!”

(The following is from the book: Stolen Valor by B.G. Burkett – page 107)

Rather certainly has experience with the military. During the Korean War, when men could be drafted out of college, Dan Irvin Rather joined the Army Reserves while attending Sam Houston University in Huntsville, Texas, thus avoiding the possibility of being drafted. On graduating in 1954, well after the Korean War was over and the killing had ended, Rather quit the reserves and enlisted in the Marine Corps. (This is the same national broadcaster who, night after night during the 1988 presidential campaign, hammered Republican vice presidential candidate Dan Quale for avoiding Vietnam by joining the National Guard,) Although the press often refers to Rather as an “ex-Marine,” he did not finish Marine recruit training. He joined the Marines on January 22, 1954, but was discharged less than four months later, on May 11,for being medically unfit. (As a boy, Rather had suffered from rheumatic fever.)

Breaking news! Not only did Bush miss a physical examination 30 years ago, CBS has learned that Cheney was late for a dental appontment and and Rumsfeld cancelled a podiatry appointment.

CBS - Our reports are fake, but accurate.

I e-mailed my local Complete B.S. station (KMOV-St. Louis):

This is to inform you that I will not watch any Channel 4 programming, or knowingly patronize any of your sponsors, until CBS either fires Dan Rather and Mary Mapes, or suspends them, and until CBS allows an independent, outside investigation into their recent reporting on 60 Minutes and their use of documents which have come under a dark cloud of suspicion.

Here's their response:

Dear Txxxxx,

Thank you for your e-mail.

Everyone here at KMOV - TV strives everyday to provide the most personally relevant news and information for our customers. And, it is through customer feedback that we are best able to appreciate customer needs, preferences and wishes. We appreciate your feedback.

Thank you again for your e-mail. We encourage you to e-mail us again with any other comments, questions, concerns or complaints you may have.

I have since sent the following e-mail to the viacom e-mail that you listed in your posting:

Be advised that I will not be a willing consumer of any CBS product (radio, TV, news, sports, or entertainment programming), nor will I knowingly do business with any of your commercial sponsors, unless and until the very serious questions surrounding the apparently fraudulent documents used in Dan Rather's 60 Minutes "hit job" last week are thoroughly investigated by independent, outside experts and appropriate action taken by CBS to resolve this issue. If indeed, it is determined that these documents were phonied up, CBS owes the American people an apology, and Dan Rather and Mary Mapes deserve to be fired.

Thanks for providing this information!
