WASHINGTON It was the first public allegation that CBS News used forged memos in its report questioning President Bush's National Guard service a highly technical explanation posted within hours of airtime citing proportional spacing and font styles.
But it did not come from an expert in typography or typewriter history as some first thought. Instead, it was the work of Harry MacDougald, an Atlanta lawyer with strong ties to conservative Republican causes and who helped draft the petition urging the Arkansas Supreme Court to disbar President Clinton after the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the Los Angeles Times has found.
is Ann a babe or what ?
Nobody can expect CBS to present any kind of credible interpretation of facts on its own, ever again. CBS is oblivious to truth, and incapable of acknowledging or countering rational arguments made against the CBS docs.
When individuals act this way, we say they are habitual liars and criminals. And when pubic corporation act this way, we say they are thoroughly corrupt, unqualified to be listed on major stock exchanges, and not suitable to hold licenses to a shared public resource, the airwaves.
Wrong, cub reporter.
Times New Roman was available since the 1930's as a typesetting font used by the Times of London. It was not until 1980 that Times New Roman was licensed as a word processor font and available as a typing font.
If you do not know the difference between a typesetting font and a font available on a typewriter, cub reporter, ask the Editor of the Seattle Times to arrange a little lecture for you by the guys who run the printing presses that print The Seattle Times.
When an Internet poster who is a physician by profession knows more about printing technology than a reporter for the Seattle Times, it illustrates the abysmal ignorance of those who now work for the news media.
Do you know - I found out Dan Rather has held Democrat fundraisers, the lawyer for Burkett is a democrat hoping to run for Supreme Court in Texas, Dan Rather's daughter is in the Texas Democrats and hopes to run for mayor.
Also realized that Burkett has the cell phone number of Max Cleveland, had contacted the DNC, NY Times, and other "friendly" Bush-haters to try and ruin Bush.
I also found out that CBS is a free network site for DNC propaganda. Now we are investigating how far back this has been going on and how many more "fake" documents have been used to support their "news".
Yo, Peter Wallsten. How much effort did the LA Times put into identifying Buckhead as compared to the identity of the person who created the forged documents?
This must be the billionth legacy media outlet to run this
non story.
So why are they doing it?
To intimidate FR users, bloggers and other pajamahadeen.
They don't want you digging in their dirt or even
expressing your opinion.

LOL Buckhead could be a purple Liertarian, and the documents would be just as fraudulent! Earth to Dan Rather....!
It's absolutely amazing! An ATTORNEY? A REPUBLICAN? It just CANT be true! Somebody call Dan Rather!
sounds sexy
Bad picture. She needs to get her roots done. =)
How modest is your proposal?
They got his name from the upscale area near Atlanta and then reading all his posts on FreeRepublic. They figured that he went to UGA and Brown and worked for Newt Gingrich and other Republicans, all from reading what he posted.
you better change that..everyone knows all the armadillo
ranches are in Vermont.
Done any snipe hunting lately?
LEts just say i am not modest in my enthusiasm *ahem* for lesbian midget piano tuners
Now, he will be demanding his own parking space at FR.
I think Jim R. should give him a company car, as well!
CBS should have put as much investigating into their story!

BRING IT ON ! (I have a viking kitty)
Will these morons in the MSM never cease? The STORY here is that someone created and passed off "memos" that were designed to bring down a President in time of War - not that the person who initially though about this was a Republican or a Lawyer... Sheesh!
