Brutally honest BUMP. It's right up there with Roger Hedgecock's term "the Media wing of the Democratic Party" and Rush Limbaugh's "the NAA(L)CP".
"My thought/theory on this is that the networks probably use questionable 'evidence' on stories pretty frequently, as a normal way of doing business."
For part of my time in the military I got to read raw intel feeds every day.
As a result, I am convinced that the Networks--and the major newspapers and wire services--lie constantly.
I'm defining "lie" as acting with the malicious intent to deceive. That can take the form of omission, distortion, selective reporting, or outright fabrication.
For instance, I happen to know that some of the anti-Marcos riots in Manila were out and out fabrications. I don't know when the media started inventing stuff, but they've been doing it at least since the Marcos years.
They didn't bother to make it a good forgery because they are just so used to getting away with it. They're just not accustomed to being vulnerable to being caught.
CBS learned to parse words from the master, Bill Clinton.
Mojo will read this, take credit, then mock Free Republic for "copying" him.
LOL
"Also, does anyone remember the exchange that SecDef Rumsfeld had with She Who Must Not Be Named (and who is probably preparing her inaugural address right now), at that open hearing earlier this year? She said some comment about the photos, and SecDef said, "It's interesting how you got a copy of the photos before I did..." (someone please PING me to that original exchange."
This explains Carville, Begala, Lockhart signing onto the Kerry campaign.
Just as an FYI, It is called sensationalism. The media is forced to compete and scoop the other stations. This has led to "dubious" reporting.
What you describe from your own experiences is consistent with my suspicions. If the public could ever grasp just how much the media fabricate and lie....
Serial "Rather'ers"... LoL..... You went a coined a new word.. I like it.. IT has legs..
In the meantime we will continue to expose ABCNNBC BS and the rest of the MSM as serial Ratheriars. ]
Serial "Rather'ers"... LoL..... You went a coined a new word.. I like it.. IT has legs..
Please use it. The more the Freeper word play like Ratheriars gets out, the more damage is done to C BS and their chief Ratheriar, Dan.
True. LOL.
In an effort to regain the trust of the American people CBS should not only investigate the process that led to the use of these documents but they should identify immediately those engaged in possible criminal activity who attempted to use a news organization to affect the outcome of a Presidential election in its closing days.
Bump!
I've got to agree with you on this one. Ed wouldn't be taking the stage unless he had the goods on the Kerry campaign.
I'm making enough popcorn for a couple of days, I don't want to miss a minute of this one. Mainstream America will backlash severely at the Kerry mob for such obvious dirty tricks with forged documents to boot, and the DemoRat koolaid crowd will be too demoralized to get out and vote!
OK, Ed -- you've got them right where you want them, push the knife all the way in. Take no prisoners!
Stick it in, twist it, break it off.
finally, the gloves come off!
I think the Prez should have the IRS carefully scrutinize the tax returns of every CBS employee (except the janitors and maids) and see what they come up with.
