Bob Schieffer is an old man and living proof, at least as regards the second part of Winston Churchill's--borrowing from someone else, as I remember--observation: When you're young and not a liberal, you have no heart, when you're old and not a conservative, you have no brain.

P.S. I have a bit of a quarrel with the part about being young and liberal. I think that those who are young and conservative are just far advanced in their observations as to how the world works.

I really believe that GW is so much more personable and comes across as sincere, but I'm a republican who loves GW. There are those dims out there than think the same about Kerry (gag me). In a town hall forum, I actually think it could go either way. I am hoping that the real on-the-job, first-hand experience of GW will be what outshines the pathetic no-experience rhetoric of Kerry. They guy has never hald a job or authored any legislation.

Actually, Dubya has already nailed Kerry on this. As soon as Kerry made the statement the first time, The President asked something like this: Maybe Senator Kerry can tell us whether Great Britain was co-erced or was bribed?

Kerry's so far out on a limb right now, staking out his "final position" on Iraq, that all W has to do is shake the tree a bit and Kerry will fall flat on his butt, early in the first debate.
