I just read something about how the Democrats on the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee are hoping to block Allen Weinstein's confirmation to become the next Archivist of the United States (replacing Clintonista John Carlin)...one thing they have against Weinstein, apart from the fact that Bush nominated him, is that he wrote a book against Alger Hiss.
Good question, if this was all there was, but remember this was just the opening shot. They wanted to sow doubt in the mind of the American voter, where was Bush, why didn't he take his physical.
The next round was Kitty Kelly's book. Suggestion of drug use. Later they were going to try and tie this all together, perhaps with a late Octomber surprise of their own.
So this nothing story (Bush in the ANG, was just one piece.
By ending it as we have, the other pieces can not be played, or like the Kitty Kelly book, be overshadowed by this story. Speaking of which, Kitty Kelly's book is so yesterday.
As someone else observed, this is going to innoculate the President from a lot of cheap charges coming out over the next few weeks. Unless someone has a signed document by Bush himself, nothing the MSM says about President Bush is going to be believed.
I HAVE to learn how to mark posts that sound important. I believe Pierce said that he had been unable to fully authenticate the 4 current memos because he was still working on comparing the signatures to other memos.

I also think there have been plenty of hints about this since late August - first went "Public" with Zell's speech - then Susan Estrich reponded - then Pat Cadell's interviews (afraid of who he thinks might be behind this - and the "gangsters" line).
I believe this is so much bigger than we know EVEN now - this isn't about political power for philosophical control. It is about control of BILLIONS of dollars.
I'm not smart enought to put all this together, but I have learned how to interpret every acuusation the left makes against the right as an exposure of what THEY are actually doing themselves.

"Relatively new here" is not a reason for having someone who has been here for years be rude to a fellow member.
Understand this: on any day, a number of people join Free Republic. Some of these new members can be experts in their particular field of expertise. A person here at Free Republic can be far more educated or experienced in a particular field than a member since 1998--that's common sense.
Top notch lawyers could join Free Republic any day. Expert programmers could join Free Republic any day. My expertise? Economics and financial markets by college degrees and 25 years experience. I am no expert in law by any means as my expertise is in a different field. But, I believe I made valid points.
You and I are in the same boat. We have common goals. Just because you do not know me persoanlly should not be reason to bark at me. If you disagree, I am sure you normally disagree with intelligent comments. Why not try that next time when you respond to my posts? Let's be friends, OK? We are in this fight together.

The military was already investigating the prisoner abuse in Iraq,and asked the press to hold off because there were going to be people charged. She ran with it while it was being fully investigated and could have blown the whole thing.She is a left wing twit. I hope when she goes to prison she meets a Rosie O'donnell lookalike who takes her cigarettes.
