Did Kerry Lie about Attending the Signing of the Gulf-War Ceasefire
O'Reilly Factor ^ | 24 Sept 2004 | Rokke

Posted on 09/23/2004 9:18:29 PM PDT by Rokke

I just watched the rerun of O'Reilly's 2001 interview with Kerry discussing the need to invade Iraq. In that interview, Kerry said the following: "I mean, I was in Safwan. I went there when the signing of the armistice took place at the end of the war." I've watched the video of the cease-fire signing at Safwan. It was still in a combat zone. I don't remember seeing anyone but military officers. Can anyone provide additional insight, or has Kerry lied again.

Check to see if Kerry was in the senate that day.

Kerry actually went to Senate chamber? When? He has the worst attendance record of any member of the United States Senate.

There is a PBS video that should be able to be ordered that shows the whole thing! Don't know the name of it but I have seen it.

If it was a lie, then, gosh, what a surprise. And if true, a junket paid for by taxpayers, gosh, what a surprise.
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent

From the Boston Globe Archives I have this story, but I do not have an account and it costs $$$:

IRAQIS ACCEPT ALL ALLIED DEMANDS SOME POWS REPORTED FREE IN SHOW OF GOODWILL

SIDEBAR: SENATOR'S TUSSLE WITH THE MOTHER TONGUE

Published on March 4, 1991

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia -- Amid evidence of deepening domestic dismay with Saddam Hussein's military adventurism, Iraqi leaders agreed yesterday to allied demands for a formal cease-fire, including the immediate return of coalition prisoners and thousands of kidnapped Kuwaitis.

"This is a major step forward in the cause of peace," Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, the US commander of the allied forces, said after a two-hour meeting with Iraqi generals. The meeting was held under

The media is watching us...don't you worry. They don't want to be scooped by "bloggers in PJ's" again.

What military people does it say were there? Are any of those likely republicans and would it be possible to contact them to ask?

Schwarzkopf did get snookered into allowing helicopters flight privileges. The Iraqis armed them and turned them on the people.

Let's see who takes the bait...they obviously are waiting for the October surprise...let's give Bush this election right now...with this pure blatant lie from 2001 on video tape. No way you can spin this.

Don't forget this gem:

Consider this "Notebook" item from TNR's March 25, 1991 issue, which ran under the headline "Same Senator, Same Constituent":

"Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition ... to the early use of military force by the US against Iraq. I share your concerns. On January 11, I voted in favor of a resolution that would have insisted that economic sanctions be given more time to work and against a resolution giving the president the immediate authority to go to war."

--letter from Senator John Kerry to Wallace Carter of Newton Centre, Massachusetts, dated January 22 [1991]

"Thank you very much for contacting me to express your support for the actions of President Bush in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. From the outset of the invasion, I have strongly and unequivocally supported President Bush's response to the crisis and the policy goals he has established with our military deployment in the Persian Gulf."

--Senator Kerry to Wallace Carter, January 31 [1991]

He won't! He's far too afraid of the public knowing what's in them;unlike President Bush.
