***ACTION ALERT*** Omission of Guilt: "Kerry Met With Both Sides in 1971 Paris Peace talks"

Posted on 09/24/2004 2:35:08 PM PDT by counterpunch

Several newspaper columnists and Democrat talking heads have already taken to a set of misleading talking points that Kerry "met with both sides" in his 1971 trip to the "peace talks" in Paris.

In every instance, it the spinster fails to mention that "both sides" in this case refers to both enemy sides, the North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong, hoping to mislead the reader into believing that Kerry somehow played a role in arbitration between the US and the communist Vietnamese.

Whenever you see such a distortion in an atricle or hear it on a news program, be sure to write to the editor to complain. Also, be sure to notify FR. We should begin a running tab of this lie in the MSM.

And 40% of the public still wants him as president.

I wouldn't doubt it. Kerry talks out of both sides of his mouth at the same time.

Excellent point. 39 days from the election and the media sees the handwriting on the wall. They will do everything and anything, witness CBS and NPR's "swing" voter, to tip the balance in Kerry's favor.

Everyone needs to put continual pressure on the media to limit its impact on the election.

In 1971 he said "both 'delegations'", IIRC.

"And 40% of the public still wants him as president."

40% of the public would take their brains out and play with them if they had any.

Technically, stating he met with "both sides" is a lie and should be called as such. The two sides at the Paris Peace Conference were the US-Republic of Vietnam side and the Democratic Peoples Republic of Vietnam-Viet Cong side. Since he met with the DPRVN and the VC representatives, he met with two factions of one side.

Thank you, I was unaware of that fact and had previously been misled by the statement, "both sides".

I greatly appreciate this clarification!

Glad to know there is another Firefighter in here. "Down with Schaitberger." As for Kerry who gave him the authority to speak to any side. Citizens of the United States do not have authority to speak for this country in negotiating with the enemy.

The man should have been arrested.

The man should have been arrested.

There is at least something in his military records about it, perhaps a dishonorable discharge, which is why Kerry refuses to release all of his records. There are 31 pages selectively held back from public disclosure.

Wouldn't it truly be awful to live in a world where you thought things that were true really weren't? Sometimes I look at these people of the Left and wonder if they really believe this crap. Then I think they must, or they wouldn't look so crazed when they're angered.

I almost feel pity for them. Then I remember that they are scum.

Your thoughts are interesting, and I agree...

First, "Sincere Thanks for your service to America. I hope you enjoy the special dignity that deserves."

I also feel pity for SOME of these folks who are truly duped by the media. However, the extreme leftists and the "purveyors of Socialism", I feel no pity for...They continue to mislead their Party into a leftist/socialist abyss. And I GREATLY appreciate the favor as American Superpower kinda guy, if you know what I mean? (conservative giggle, here)

Be safe, Bro.
